Why Natural?

Because my natural hair looks much better than my relaxed hair. It grows out quickly and is fairly easy to care for.

So why did I texlax a few times each year? And why did I relax 2 of my DDs?

I was just doing what everyone else (other than old ladies) seemed to do.

Stupid, huh?

I want to go natural again and stay that way b/c I feel it should be a part of my larger movement to have healthier, more natural lifestyle practices (foods, hygienic products, etc.) My natural hair is much thicker, and healthier than my relaxed or texlaxed hair. I also want to be confident in knowing that when I grow my hair out uber long, I don't have to think it'll be gone one day cuz I have to turn around and then go natural. I'd rather get the hard part over with (transitioning) now before I reach my goals.

Oh, and one last caveat is that I will be able to say I'm the only natural sistah in my immediate family, and show the others what it all looks like.

1. It was dye or relaxer...I chose the dye

2. My natural hair was thick and lush and I waned the thickness back...

I want to transition, but I can't think of any reasons. I like my relaxed hair a lot, so that's why I haven't been able to transition....

I went natural for three reasons

MOST IMPORTANTLY - My doctor said I should, I had horrible scalp issues and perming would just make it worse.
I WANTED TO STICK WITH SOMETHING - I was 18 and just graduated so I wanted something besides college where I could learn and gain benefits from my knowledge.
And my last reason not a good one but oh well
PRESSURE FROM FAMILY - I don't think they wanted me to go for the health of my hair honestly because no one wanted to let me continue my transition it was just "chop chop chop" and although I'm glad I'm natural I would have liked to cut little by little til I felt comfy.
