Why is my hair growing lop sided?

Ladies, ladies, ladies...I don't know why I never really noticed this before. My former beautician cut all the relaxed hair away to a little afro (maybe 2 inches of hair) a few months ago and I went right into a sew in. So I just did my regime and added a blow dry to look for split ends and my left side is considerably shorter than my right. My crown (the very top of my head) is shorter than the back of my head. What gives?:perplexed Oooh Woe is Me!

Hair never grows in evenly. We're not machines, things rarely line up perfectly.

It can be especially annoying when you're growing out a short cut.

I'm going through the same thing :yep: If it drives you crazy, even it up, but there is nothing unusual about it.

Thanks Neith,
I think becuase it so noticeable on very short hair and it's just plain ugly. But progress is progress so I'll take it.

Do you sleep on your back? Blood circulation may also be a culprit.

(Disclaimer: I don't know what your head is shaped like, I'm assuming since I have a hook in the back of my head and when I lay down on my back I end up laying in the middle of my head, that this may be the case with you.)

Just throwing ideas out there.

don't worry the sides will match up eventually, I know one side of my hair grows faster, it's normal don't worry. :) alot of people go through this and i've always known people that sometimes have that stubborn side that won't grow with the other side or section on your head.

when you get it to the length that you want you can even it up then with a trim.

For the most part I'm on my side, but I also sleep on my back as well. Thanks Channie, I never really thought of that

Thanks longhairlover. And your hair looks faaabuulllouus Darling:grin:

This happens to me as well. The left side of my hair grows WAAY faster than the right side. I also notice the textures are slightly different as well.
