Why do you have fake hair in your head?

I would say: "didn't your mother teach you any manners?"

The boy was out of line! I agree with the poster that said he was trying to embarass you. The little smart a$$.

whaaaaaaaaaaat? lmao, wow, i see where the son gets the ignorance from..

i probably woulda said cuz i feel like it lil boy

and he knew what he was doing, kids are not dumb. he wanted to embarrass her point blank.

Soslychic, did he ask the question like he honestly wanted to know the answer, or was he snickering?

I don't think it really has anything to do with little kids being smart; you can be intelligent but display pure ignorance of foreign ideas and cultures. Eleven isn't that old, he's a boy and he's white. It's very likely the idea of adding extensions to hair is completely unfamiliar to him. Unless he was snickering and smirking as he said it, I don't think his actual question was particularly rude - he just didn't think to ask his question in a more appropriate manner.

I don't buy that because he knew they were fake as I said before whites who are unfamiliar with weaves etc. NEVER know they are fake they really think that one day we grew crazy amounts of hair over night. I would have told his mom that instead of worrying abotu being PC she should be worrying about him having manners.

It wasn't a sincere question. And he deliberately made it a point to tell the group of people I was around at the time, she has fake hair in her head!

Or you could have said, "The same reason Britney Spears and Christie Aguillera have fake hair in their heads."

I would have told him to stay up out of grown folk business and go somewhere and sit you little narrow behind down.

Huh?!? So, do you still think he was being a smart-a$$ before? I tend to believe that it might have been an innocent (yet ignorant) question. Mind you, I have a bad habit of always giving others the benefit of the doubt. Either way, I wouldn't have been nasty back. Always be the bigger person. Getting upset gives people the satisfaction that they are looking for. Kill them with kindness!
