How long after a TWA did your hair start growing down? Did it take a couple months? a few months? a year or more?

I'm about APL and mine hasn't grown down. I actually hope it never does. I want to always be able to create a MizzBrit or ~SparklingFlame~ type afro puff at the top of the head, which would not be possible if my hair was floppy. I love that WHEN I want it to be floppy, I can make it so, but I'm glad it does not do that on its own.

it took a few months... (Apr/May 2009) this is my curly fro

(Sept 2009)here it is a few mths later combed out w/ my overprocessed ends still attached (they're gone now)

(Oct 2009 right before relaxing) I blow dried..I wanted that fall sooo bad

I believe it depends on your hair type. Some peoples hair seems to never grow down. Their fro just gets higher and higher.

I don't think you'll have to worry about this with your hair type though, Op.

I think you're right about that! I was little and wanted a fro like this

but it never would stand up it kept flopping

omg .. lets just assume that's her hair. how long would that ish be ? now .. i dont know what the OP or you guys mean (visually) by "growing down" .. but that is some amazing looking hair

Growing down as opposed to growing out...like when my hair was shorter I would puff it and it would stick out..now I puff it and it falls down and hangs..

I'm at BSL now. I notice it's heavier in the shower, so maybe. But I don't know for sure if my hair has begun growing down yet, because I haven't let it dry in its natural curl pattern since APL. At APL it didn't grow down.

I think it just depends on your strand thickness and curliness.

ETA: You should do a search. I remember some posters (Silvergirl?) saying that their hair started growing down at about SL.

Mine hung down at chin length but it always shrinks once it dries and goes out. I can also manipulate it to make it hang more by banding.

As for growing down...I would say that depends on your curl type and the thickness of your hair.

Um, I don't remember, but I think it was as soon as I started getting some length really. In fact, the front part of my hair, which is a lot looser than the rest, always hanged. I'm a little past APL now and all of it hangs.

Same here....I cant get a fro straight from a wash though, my hair has to be manipulated in some kind of way or stretched...it sucks :ohwell:

Um you can see the length of my hair in my siggy but it still does not grow down. The back of my hair is waistlength. I have to manipulate it for it to hang.

Mine doesn't grow downwards if you're talking about loose strands. I've had plenty of hang downage from locks, and braids (my own hair) but my loose strands are wirey and grow up and out - they don't fall or swing on their own.

mines started growing down when i went to the store and purchased a relaxer, than magically in the next 10 mins i had hair that was down.

My hair still kind of grows out and I am BSL...I'm waiting on the day that it grows down!
