Who's hair is no longer their 'priority?'

My hair care is still important to me, but my reasoning behind it has changed. As much as I appreciate this site, I feel that it (amongst other things) aided in my becoming obsessed with growing my hair for a few months. I took my twist extensions out and since then, have been having a lovefest with my hair--as it is. Originally my plan for 2006 was to wear my hair continuously in twists to try to grow it out, but after taking a good, hard look at my hair, I've concluded its already long and I love it as is. I'm sure in a few months I'll get tired of doing it myself and I'll put it back in extensions--but I'm not going to worry about growth. It's growing all on its own, whether I oil it every day or not, whether I take supplements or not--my hair is going to do its thing.

I guess my new priority with my hair is learning how to put it in a variety of styles. I am going to try to experiment with some new styles:think:--though it has been a challenge for me to do my own hair. I have a good sista friend who does her own hair and she has been a huge source of encouragement in getting me to try new stuff with mine. With any luck, they might come out good enough to post pics!

I thought I was the only one. I am not obsessed over length anymore but only that my hair is healthy. I think that getting my hair regimine together really helped me mellow out because it was the not knowing what to do and what to use on my hair that had me always thinking about it.
