I have noticed that I have not been pampering my strands as I used to. Am I the only one?

ME!!! No matter what my hair grows the same amount in the same time. My regimine in down pat and I have nothign to worry about but my BC and thats a while away. It will tak eatleast another year to get where Im going so Im like WHATEVER right about now. ALso I knwo my hair can take just about any punishment I dole out so until it starts breaking or fallin gout in chunks it will keep getting the same treatment as before.

You are not alone on that one. I use to be so into caring for my hair. It was to the point where any and everybody knew to come to me for hair advice. Now I can care less. I don't even get on here for hair tips like I use to. I still want my hair to grow, but I'm just tired of all the work that goes along with caring for it. I just want to throw my hair in a ponytail and be through with it.

My hair was not responding to all my "care" so I stopped doing a lot of the things I used to do. As long as I do the basics, my hair will grow in it's own time. I deep condition like once a month now. Wash once a week. moisturize daily. That's about it!

I would have to say myself as well. I will ALWAYS be concerned with maintaining the health of my hair. But the bottomline is that it is going to do what it wants to do as far as growth. I am happy with the length that I have, it if gets longer fine, it not so what. Right now I am debating if I want to recolor my roots for the spring/summer or allow it to continue to grow out. That is about as far up the totum pole as it goes when it comes to my hair now..

My hair has not been on the top of my list b/c I am unemployed. As long as it is not breaking off I am not going to worry.

Hey with two young kids...I still care but I just don't have the time!

speaking of kids :counting all them younguns made me dizzy

Since I joined the forum it hasnt been a priority to me, I just get protective styles and forget about it until its time for a new one. I forgot this was a hair board...I havent visited you all over here in awhile . ENT and OT are just too good to miss.

My hair stopped being a priority when I went to nursing school and it shows. I was just too tired and stressed and believe you me, my hair was the last thing on my mind (and that showed too!)

Now Im back to the world of the living but I work crazy overtime and am still in school continuing my education. Im transitioning (accidently and now on purpose) and considering the BC, but other than that my routine is pretty basic. I have started taking my vitamins again, and I plan to wear a lace front while I transition bc I cant do anything with this mini fro I have.

I just plan to wash or cowash weekly, deep condition, moisturize, and braid it up under my lace front. Im waiting for it to get here from China and it will be a few weeks so right now Im sporting phony ponies and falls. Its the only way I can keep my sanity until I figure out what to do with these two textures. Its poofy and rough looking so at least in the meanwhile while I transition, I can look presentable.

I've never done anything really special, but I still care about it. I think as long as I am using quality products that my hair does well with, I cant go that wrong.

i've definately chilled out, and i'm getting better results because of it!

i'm taking a break with pics n stuff till the end of may.

I don't think my hair was ever priority but I don't think about it as much as I used to. Especially since I am on a protective style/no-heat challenge. I just twist it every other week and moisturize, CW 2x a week and forget it. I don't even deep cond as much as I used to. Maybe every other week or so.

I stand accused, and guilty. Since I've been trying to pack, and move, adn house hunt, and sell this house...again...and got sick..yada yada yada..my poor 'do has been neglected..same w/ the hair vits

like one of the other ladies said... i will ALWAYS be concerned about my hair's health but I am no longer obsessed about my length like i used to be. Now that I have seen progress, I know that I will get there. Slowly...but surely. Now that I don't measure my growth every single month I can actually tell my hair is getting longer.

Since I am in college I sometimes find myself sleeping in my friends' room w/o a scarf or a satin pillow... I used to freak out and go ALL the way back to my room for one but now I'm pretty relaxed about it, since it rarely happens and every other time I take care of it.

Oops... I didn't mean to ramble :look:

i think ive kind of backed off a little...even though i just spurlged on buying keracare products..but i want the best for the hair that i have and to make it healthy...but since cutting it..i havent really been concerned about trying to grow it long..ive actually been trying to think of ways to get rid of the products that i have...and i have simplified and cut my regimen down by alot..going once every two weeks to the hairdresser..and on the weeks im not going just washing and deep conditioning myself...and thats it...before when i cut my hair i was running to the hairdresser about every 4 days and not really caring who i went to to get it curled or done by...and trying to figure out ways and what i could take and do to grow my hair....

No, you're not the only one! :D

But this has been the thing for me for most of my life. Before finding LHCF, I was this way. After discovering LHCF I started pampering my strands. Then I went natural. After becoming natural, I stopped pampering my hair as much... mainly because of time constraints... I've been busy with school and there's only so many hours in a day. Plus, my natural hair is still relatively short (5 +/- inches). I think I will find more time with my hair once I graduate from college this May! Woo-hoo! :woot:

This is OT, but I'm graduating in May too. CONGRATS! Free time here I come! No more stupid text books, papers or exams!! :yay: Wooooo! :lachen:

Felt the same way after 2+ YEARS. It did grow, but continously broke off. I probably won't go back to sporadic washings like I used to before LHCF, but I won't be obsessive the way I had been these last few years either.

I'm just leaving it up to time and patience. Can't be bothered anymore;)

I think this is the objective of a fool proof regimine...

With a full time job, full time grad school, family and trying to keep a man interested...there's no way that hair can be a priority.

I know! It'll be a blessing!

But I won't be quite done. I'm also in the MBA program at my school. But classes are only every other weekend which isn't bad. Plus, all we do is group presentations... no quizzes or exams. So I'll have a Bachelors in May and MBA in December. ;)

Okay, back to the topic! :D

You are not alone. I am in the process of selling my home and I have been wearing a single ponytail for about 3 months now. I do nothing to my hair except wash & condition it every week and put it back in a non-maintenance ponytail.

I guess I'll get back into this "hair thing" after I'm settled and no longer stressed.

 Yeah I feel ya! It doesn't help that they have the same features PLUS they are dressed alike!

Anyway, I wonder if I am 'hair depressed?'

Ha..funny thing though..I may have slowed down on the meticulous care i take, but the PJ in me HAS NOT slowed!

I hear that!!!!

I don't do anything with my hair...I barely wrap it up at night anymore!!! *GASP*..I know, I know. The past few days, I've rolled out of bed, but a dab of moisturizer and some gel and brushed right back into the same pony puff it was in before, hardley even taking it out of the puff it was in the day before, lol.

But I'll buy a new product in a minute!
