This is the information in the book that I am using. For those who are doing this, or who are good at astrology, I have a question for you. February 4th seems to be good astologically (in a lunar way + ...), but Mars in in opposition, but Venus is trine, the moon is in Leo and the moon is waxing. The next possibility would be February 24th, whne the moon is in Taurus, the moon is waxing in the 1st quarter, and it is favourable to my sun sign too.

Any thoughts on which day would be best. Nothing is listed about my Sun Sign one way or the other for February 4th.

"Llewllyn's 2004 Moon Sign Book - 99th Annual Edition":

Permanents, straightening and hair colouring will take well if the Moon is in Taurus or Leo and trine or sextile Venus. Avoid hair treatments if Mars is marked as square or in opposition, especially if heat is to be used. For permanents, a trine to Jupiter is helpful. The Moon should be in the first quesrter, and check the lunar cycle for a favourable day in relation to your sun sign."

Ok Ballet Bun, you definitely have my head spinning now.
I thought lunar tracking was just simply tracking the moon phases from waxing to waning and vice versa. Reading your post makes me feel like suchhh an amateur!

Re:Update: Who Uses The Lunar Cycles For Haircare?

Ballet Bun, I usually get Jim Maynard's Pocket Astrologer which I have been told is more accurate that Llellewyn. I am waiting to get mine from Amazon.com. so I'll just go by the info you gave and I am totally confused.

Are you saying that on Feb 4, with the moon in Leo, Mars will be in opposition to the moon and Venus will be trine to the moon? That sounds incorrect. For Mars to be in opposition to the moon in Leo, Mars would have to be in Aquarius, the sign opposite to Leo, and Mars is nowhere near Aquarius. And around that time, Venus will be in Pisces, which does not make a trine to Leo. Perhaps you are refering to when the moon will still be in cancer, before entering Leo. That's the only thing that makes sense to me. Please double check your info. I am going to go online to check the position of planets on that day and I'll get back to you.

I do it and it seems to work very well. I trim my hair at the new moon, in the first phases of the water signs, like Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces, other good signs are Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn.

I use lunar cycles. I cut or trim my hair only when the moon is waxing, to encourage growth.

Sorry, I was looking at the column for Mercury. Mars will be square on that day. Does that make more sense now. I just realized this morning that I have been looking at the wrong column ...

Re:Update: Who Uses The Lunar Cycles For Haircare?

@ Kelendra, the moon is waxing when it is increasing in size, that is, going from new moon to full moon (approx. 15 days), and waning when it is decreasing in size, that is, going from full moon to new moon (approx 15 days).

@ Ballet bun, it makes more sense now. I looked at the planet lineup for Feb 4, and on that day, the moon will leave Cancer and enter Leo at 7:51 pm Eastern Time. So, if you want to do something while the moon is in Leo, you'll have to do it after 7:51 pm ET. The moon will be in Leo all day on Feb 5. it all sounds very complicated, and it is. Astrology is not a simplistic science. If you want more info, you can pm me. I don't want to get people's head spinning.

Re:Update: Who Uses The Lunar Cycles For Haircare?

Can anyone who knows about the Lunar help the rest of us. Can you tell us when the moon changes and when it is good for applying heat, or trimming or chemicals to the hair. It can be a thread everytime the day is coming or something like that.

Sabie ... you mean you want someone to post something everytime the moon New and Full, and when it in a sign favourable to cutting and relaxing?

Jessy55 might be able to asnwer this better than me, but I don't knwo if it's that simple. Maybe it can be. The impression I have gotten form what I have read is that you have to take into consideration other aspects of other planets, and if it's a day fabourable to your sun sign too.

Jessy ... jump in here and save me ... lol!!!! PLease!!!

The New Moon is Sunday, December 12th (today in many areas) for all following this haircare procedure.

I have slacked off the trimming on new moon for quite a while now and I have noticed my hair is not doing as well, anyway, I will be trimming my hair next Friday 17 December as new moon will be in Pisces (1st Phases).
