Who likes Le kair Cholesterol Plus(pink one)?

Sassygirl, yes that's the one we're talking about.

I loved it during my...ahem...(shshsh) Jheri curl days <--That's my whisper script. And had forgotten about it until you guys mentioned it; and so far, I have no complaints. (My hair is natural and in braids.) I have used it twice both with heat and without.

I just tried this one this weekend. It was so cheap, how could I not!
It gave my hair a lot of slip during my comb out (I comb out in the shower with conditioner still in), but my hair dried a little more crunchy than usual and I had to try a few different leave-ins to soften it up.

If I'm not mistaken, the crunchiness you felt was due to the protein in the conditioner. Protein is good/important for strengthening your hair but it can make it hard, hence the need for a good moisturizer thereafter.

I agree the Lekair is a nice staple. When I feel really heavy-handed but I don't have a lot of moneymI just go buy a huge tub of this for $8.00.

I also have the queen helene cholesterol. I hate it as deep conditioner. It just doesn't do anything for my hair. But to keep from wasting it, I mix it with olive oil and use it as a pre-conditioner. If I am shampooing my hair, I cover it with a plastic cap and let it sit for a couple of hours before shampooing. If I'm just doing a conditioner wash, I use that in the shower before my second conditioner.

I bought some this morning. I guess it's 20 oz... The weight isn't shown, but it says "4 oz Free!" on the tub. It was only $2.39. I'm going to use it after my protein conditioner this weekend. If I hate it I won't feel so bad about using it as shaving lotion or watering it down and spraying it on the cat.

@ spraying it on the cat.

I've tried leklair and I found it to work well. Queen helene works for me as well. I've used both with heat and without. When I went without heat i would put a plastic cap and then tie a scarf around my head and leave it on all day. (this was when my hair was relaxed) and it did okay. It didn't dry my hair out. It great if you want something that creamy.

I'm so mad, I went out and bought Kerastase Masquintense (expensive) and its worked well, but now that y'all have said so many good things about Lekair, I'm wondering if I should have spent so much on kerastase. But I can't go out and by Lekair now, I have to finish this one first.

I'm gonna try it today, on my relaxed hair. I've used tis when i was natural and it was great. i'm going to use it with heat. I'll let you know how it goes. I've used QH when relaxed and it did nothing for my hair.

Tried it. Liked it!

My QH and Lustrasilk experiences turned me against cholesterol conditioners, but I like this stuff. And it's cheap! It didn't detangle my hair, but it didn't make the tangles worse like the Lustrasilk did. And my hair felt very soft. Almost Tropical Avocado soft. I'm glad I bought the giant tub. I can't wait to try it with a few spoonfuls of avocado oil...

Sassy, when you add avocado oil to your conditioners do you add it to the whole container?

I think I may want to start using it for conditioner washes.Today I used it without heat for about 10 mins and my hair came out better than when I used my heat cap for 30 mins

I wash my hair this morning but u guys make me feellike I want to go out and buy a jar and wash my hair again this is going on my wish list

Nah. I put one or two tbs of oil in a bowl and add a few scoops (2 oz?) of conditioner.

I've used this as a moisturizing deep conditioner w/o heat for the 2nd time and it's official--I'm in love! I had to do brh's moonwalk holding the brush as a microphone.

I added avocado oil to it today and got results very close to what I get with Tropical Avocado.

I was disappointed by cholesterol conditioners in the past. This stuff has been on the market for years and I never would have tried it if it weren't for this board. Thanks!

I'm really glad to hear that other people are having good results with this product. I'm conditiong right now with the aloe formula. With my product junkyism in full force, I thought after I used it up, I'd try something different...but now I'm going to just stick with it. It works and it's cheap. What more could I ask for? Never thought of using it for a conditioner wash.

I haven't tried the pink one. I have only tried the the green one so far. What caught my eye was that it said it was for "Extra Dry Hair" but I hear from this thread that the both give the same results. Is the pink one less expensive? With the exception of the aloe vera, are the ingredients the same? Here are the ingredients for the green one.

LeKair Cholesterol + Aloe Formula Ingredients:
Deionized Water
Lanette 16
Peg 40
Castor Oil
Strearalkonium Chloride
Mineral Oil
Aloe
Methl Paraben
Propyl Paraben
Cholesterol
Jojoba Oil
Vitamin E
Keratin Protein
Fragrance
Mint Green Shade

I deep conditioned with it today.I added an oil mix(jojoba, olive, cocnut and design essentials oil mix)with it.My hair came out so nice and it feels soft and healthy.
Definitely a keeper!

I scored some of this today at the NYC Meeting. I cant wait to try it...Ill try it alone first and then add some oil...yum...

Spagirl, I have the pink one and it says on the jar that it's "enriched with: Cholesterol, Jojoba Oil, Aloe Vera and Collagen Protein" so it does have some aloe in it.

The other ingredients for the pink one are:

Purified Water, Cetyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol & PEG 40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Stearalkonium Chloride, Mineral Oil, Cholesterol, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Citric Acid Aloe Jjoba Oil, Vitamin E Acetate, Vitamin A & D, Methyl Paraben, Proply Paraben, Tetrasodium EDTA, FD&C Yellow #5, FD&C Red #4, Fragrance.

So there are differences. Now I just need the veterans/scientists on board to explain the ingredients and then tell us whether one's better than the other and why.

I love le kair Cholesterol and would recommend it to anyone who wants to strengthen their hair..... i deep condition with it once a week.... i sit under the hooded dryer with a shower cap on for 30 minutes.... 60 minutes when i've come out of braids..... it works well and i've noticed less breakage as well.... i'm sure you'll be pleased...

God bless

Crystal
