it doesnt absorb for me and while my ends'll dry...the roots stay sopping wet. If i were leaning on something long enough it probably would leave a wet spot so thats a nono for me...im still working on how to get it to absorb better and dry faster.
ooh have you tried plopping? ladylibra talks about it a lot so i did it...i was concerned the shirt would absorb all the conditioner with the water but here i am an hour later (i took the shirt off my hair after 30 mins though) and my hair is almost completely dry yet still smells like VS so sexy. she has a video i believe but i just got out of the shower and wrapped a cotton tee around my hair before getting dressed.

Hi, LHCF newbie here. I wash all the co-wash out. But then I condition and leave almost all that in. I used to leave just a litte in or rinse it out and add a leave in. Now I smooth it in and add a butter to my ends, and maybe a leave in. I need the moisture.

hi :weird:

that sounds great...i used to use butter as well but it weighed my hair down. i'm heavy handed.

It seems like this works well for the 3 ladies. Any 4s have success with this method? Also, how do you know if your conditioner is "cone" free?
the back of my head is all 4a and that part loves it too. lol

man i shoulda multiquoted...my bad y'all

Most silicones end with either -cone or -xane. If you check your ingredients, it'll let you know if it has any silicones in it, or not.

Justkiya - do you mind posting the exact ingredients of your leave-in moisturizer? Thanks so much!

I don't leave in the conditioner from my cowash, because my hair tends to be TOO wet. I rinse it all out, pat my hair semi dry, and then I put more conditioner back in - my 'leave-in' moisturizer is actually a mix of my two favorite conditioners, along with some butters. eaves my hair feeling SOOOO good, and it dries, because I've taken out most of the water beforehand.

I've also noticed that it makes my hair easier to detangle the next time I get it wet, too. :yep:

It's Elasta QP Intense conditioner, along with Eqyss Premier Cream Rinse. Urm, the butters. *thinks* Red Palm Oil, Shea butter, Shealoe butter, Cocoa Butter.... I think that's all of them. Plus some honeyquat and SAA.

Hrm. It might have some Vitamin E oil in it, too, but I'm not sure. I was having fun that night.

Got your reply in my thread and thought i'd come back over. I never though of doing because my hair is short. I thought your hair had to be long to try it. I'll give that a shot! That'll be great if it will dry my hair!

Bee, I've tried with a lot of cone and cone free conditioners and it doesn't work for me. I'm a 4 with very dry/coarse hair.

It felt good initially but after it was dry I had a mess.

I'm a 4a and I usually leave the conditioner in my hair. Most of the time V05 or Suave are my staples, but this weekend I tried it with Pantene Hydrating Curls condish. I thought that my hair didn't like cones, but suprisingly, it LOVED this conditioner. My hair stayed soft and moisturized not only throughout the day, but when I woke up the next morning, I took off my bonnet and my curls were pretty much intact and still soft and moisturized.:yep:

I tried this tonight, about 20 mins. ago to be exact.

What I did was, I put the condish in -White Rain Tropical Coconut (I can't leave in my "other" condish b/c it has protein) and then put castor oil in my hair and let that sit while I washed and then put a bit more condish and then plopped it with a towel to get the drips and my curls are poppin!
(I was afraid the castor oil would make my hair dry out so I wanted to make sure it was moisturized!)

My curls look so cute! I have my hair pushed back a little and it looks so cute! I don't think I will do this everyday but, my hair just drinks everything I put in it so I am not worried about buildup.

Thanks Sparkle for this thread, I will be doing this more often!

I'm going to try this tomorrow with a cone-free conditioner (Suave Tropical Coconut).

I'm trying to give a cheapie one last shot. I had been using Herbal Essences, Suave Humectant, and Organix, but they all have cones. For whatever reason silicone conditioners don't work well with my hair when it comes to co-washing, and then putting a styler on top makes it feel even worse.

I can't wait to see what the results will be like with a cone-free cheapie. If it works, I won't have to give up on them after all.

hey all you suave tropical coconut lovers...

walgreens has suave products BOGO1/2. the family sized containers are $1.79 and they have the 33% free ones

That's been my problem too. That's why I posted about the 3s. My Elasta QP Intense is cone free but that didn't work either. Great slip though!
