well i do now.

i have been a cowashing fanatic for maybe two or three months now but i have only seriously gotten into it since 2 weeks before my BC, so about three weeks-ish now. i discovered that all of you that say "leave the conditioner in" are absolutely right (i dont plan on buying HE LTR again and i am iffy on the GD) cause my hair feels and smells awesome after i do this with the VO5 strawberries and creme.

however, i tried something new today: first i cowashed one day after my DC instead of 2 days since my hair still felt dry. also, instead of rinsing the conditioner out and adding more, i just squeezed out all the extra water and put my hair in a ponytail. this will get some boos, but i didnt seal with oil or anything; i just let it airdry under the ceiling fan.

my...hair...feels...great. as in, it feels really soft, and definitely not dry anymore. such a small tweak produced such great results. i just had to rave.

so enough about me...do you do this? why or why not? why do YOU like it (or loathe it), and what product do you use? what do you seal with? i wanna start a revolution...i'm so serious, LOL!

I recently started doing this as well, it gives my hair a mosturized feeling and helps define my curls. Hopefully it won't adversely effect my hair. I'm interested as well...

i get the best wng's when i leave all the conditioner in. The problem with it for me is that my hair WILL NOT dry. at all. ever. When i do the CW @ 9 am. my hair is still wet @ 11pm. I toweldry, use a diffuser. Nothing works but i so wish it would because my besides that it comes out looking great.

I don't but only because I'm concerned about it sitting on my scalp. I don't want to block those hair follicles... maybe I'll try it. I used to do it faithfully.

I just did this by accident today, lol. I meant to leave just SOME of it but I had but soo much conditioner in that when I got out and started to detangle with my Denman, I felt that baby on my hair still, lol. I just left it alone. Sealed with some castor oil and applied a small amount of Organix Coconut Milk serum. I used HE Hello Hydration conditioner. I then twisted my hair and set them on flexirods and now sitting under my hooded bonnet dryer attatchment and hoping this ish dries by the time I have to leave in about an hour or so...:look:

My hair does smell heavenly, but I'll leave less in next time, I'm too concerned about buildup and breakage. But hey when I'm cowashing, I do it often enough to prevent it and add a shampoo wash in there somewhere w/ DC to get the build-up off.

I'll let you know how this turns out, lol.

I rinse, and add conditioner or oils or whatever, then leave it and rinse that and continue the cycle

so im on a rinse regimen I guess

But my hair continuously has my various hair 'gunks' in it! :yep:

concerns duly noted, LOL

i never even thought about the buildup...hmm, guess i'll just have to clarify twice a month instead of once...

i am about to make my own moisturizer and do this! i figured why not...its cheap and good smelling, and i KNOW it works...

I have a question for all of you who do it...
Does your hair absorb the cond & oil after a little whileor does it stay juicy?
Does it ever leave juicy jherri curl type pattern/spots on chairs sofa's or head rests?

I'm not trying to be silly here, I really want to know because I'm still working with 2 transitioning textures and it seems that the conditioner doesn't absorb to well on the relaxed areas of my hair.

it totally got absorbed...i was worried about that too but after the dripping stopped (i just used a hand towel draped around my neck to catch em) it was like i had used a regular leave-in. i dont have relaxed ends anymore, so maybe a transitioner can chime in...

I do this all the time.

-Defines the curls.
-Moisturizes and conditions the hair
-Leaves the hair smelling really good.

i had to bump this. i do this everyday but yesterday was the first time the SO has seen me post-BC and while he hates short hair (oh well :look:) he was sniffing my hair.

hehe :ninja:

I have been lately for WNGs. I keep saying I am gonna rinse and style and get lazy and just end up repeating the next day.

it doesnt absorb for me and while my ends'll dry...the roots stay sopping wet. If i were leaning on something long enough it probably would leave a wet spot so thats a nono for me...im still working on how to get it to absorb better and dry faster.

My hair is almost all the time juiced up

I don't leave in the conditioner from my cowash, because my hair tends to be TOO wet. I rinse it all out, pat my hair semi dry, and then I put more conditioner back in - my 'leave-in' moisturizer is actually a mix of my two favorite conditioners, along with some butters. eaves my hair feeling SOOOO good, and it dries, because I've taken out most of the water beforehand.

I've also noticed that it makes my hair easier to detangle the next time I get it wet, too. :yep:

I do this. I co wash every other day so I don't worry about build up. And I bun 99.9% of the time. I use Suave Humectant and seal with Kemi Oyl or Olive Oil bun and go.

I tried this a couple of times and each time it left my hair feeling a little crunchy:perplexed and these are protein free CW's so I don't understand why my hair hates it. Needless to say I will not be doing this again:nono:.

Hi, LHCF newbie here. I wash all the co-wash out. But then I condition and leave almost all that in. I used to leave just a litte in or rinse it out and add a leave in. Now I smooth it in and add a butter to my ends, and maybe a leave in. I need the moisture.

I have the same problem... and I hate crunchy hair. :wallbash: well at least it's not just me.. :ohwell:

What a co-in-key-dink,:giggle: I did the same thing today with Trader Joe's Nourish Spa Condish, and I didn't (I almost never) seal with oil, and my hair was lusciously soft today :wow:

I've done this before and it was not a good experience :nono:. It took forever for my hair to dry and I had breakage from product build up. I definitely won't do it again. I had to shampoo and deep condition my hair 2 days later to correct the problem.

Were you ladies using conditioners that potentially had a lot of silicones in them? If so, I could definitely see how you would end up with crunchy hair, as you would be 'leaving on' far, far more silicone than was designed to be left on - and as that dries - :perplexed - crunchy town!!!

If you want to try again, try and use a cone-free conditioner, and see if you get the same results...... and of course, if the con you ended up with crunchy hair on WAS cone-free, pay me no mind. :lachen:

Isn't it the best to leave in? Gosh, this stuff is great and what I do is use a little of Oyin Burnt Sugar Pomade on my edges and my ends and gosh, not only do I smell good...I look good too:grin:

It seems like this works well for the 3 ladies. Any 4s have success with this method? Also, how do you know if your conditioner is "cone" free?

I do this sometimes when I wear my hair in a wash n' go. It keeps it soft and keeps the styling product from getting hard. Also seems to help elongate the curls.

My hair is 4a and I have had major success with it!!! :yep: The conditioner I use as a leave in is Natures Advantage Extra Concentrated Honey & Almond conditioner....no cones....I use that in conjunction with my LongAid Curl Activator gel and my hair stays soft and moist all day long. :yep:
