Who actually CW EVERYDAY? Can I over do it?

I JUST now jumped on the conditioner wash thing and I love it. I still had the "it's bad for black women to wash/wet their hair too often" stuck in my head and I was also grossed out that you don't always use shampoo...dispite how much information and success this board has.

I tried it and I love it. I been doing it for about two weeks. I CW last night and dammit my hair feels and looks so great, I wanna do it again. I am CW with Pantene Relaxed and Naturals conditioner (not too bad). Another reason I also just now tried it is because I was afraid the "cheapie" and drugstore conditioners weren't going to do any good for my hair.

If I CW tonight, can I over do it? My hair is soo strong and swings and my newgrowth is so soft.

I know many of you conditioner wash, but who actually does it EVERYDAY?!

Cowashing daily has been the best thing for my hair since my decision to transition. Especially when I work out 6 days a week, HARD.So YES you can do it. I haven't had any problems personally, but I have heard others complain about overconditioning. I don't know what that means exactly, but something about hair becoming too soft  . Oh yeah, I shampoo once or twice a month with CON.

I do a modified version of co-washing every day. Works VERY well for me and has cut down my tangles dratically.

I shampoo with ntm shampoo once a week, and with suave clarifying or sun kissed reaspberry once a month.

Shell,
Last week when I started doing CW, I did it every day and then I only skipped Friday and said i would do it every other day b/c I had the same concern as you did. If you have been cw'ing every day, do you just pull it into a wet bun? That's what I do and was just curious about any other alternatives.

I have done co washes daily for up to one month. I mix NTM DDC into a bottle of CON Nourishing Conditioner. Sometimes I use Herbal Essences. I didn't have the problem of overconditioning...I just got lazy. I have resumed doing them daily recently and I co wash in the evenings. By morning my hair is mostly dry.

I tie a scarf around the front to lay the waves and edges and let the rest hang out. I put a little WGHO on the ends and edges (before tying) and go to sleep. In the morning I swirl my hair into a loose bun, usually adding more WGHO or NTM Healing Shine Serum to the ends. That's my daily style.

yep every morning i do my Conditioner washes... i use neutrogena daily deep conditioner or my nexxus humectress and yes my hair loves the daily condioner "washes".. my hair stays extremely moisturized, soft and there's a spring in my curls ... :)

just ordered a 5lb tub of humecto as well cause ive used it previously and like it ..

I don't do protective styles or buns (don't look right on me and I don't like ponytails/buns/braids). I CW my hair when I get home from work in the evening when I take my shower. Then I use some infusium 23 leave in and then i put in some Pantene relaxed and naturals oil cream moisturizer and rollerset it. I let it airdry overnight and when i wake up in the morning, my hair is dry and i got a nice bouncy set.

I use to do it every day until just recently. I didn't seem to harm my hair at all. I did notice that when my new growth is a lot, con washes give me more tangles. So I con was up to week 6 or seven post relaxer than i do it once maybe twice a week until my touch up.

Girl, I so wish I could rollerset my hair every night!! I love love love big bouncy curls, but it just takes me so long to rollerset and takes it even longer for my hair to dry. Even when I set under the hood dryer it takes about 2 or more hours to dry......I don't particularly care for the bun, but the main reason I do it is because I prefer not to have to deal with my hair (on a daily basis) after cw, meaning it just takes me absolutely too long to roller set (about an hour) whereas not very long to bun. But I do treat myself to a rollerset once a week though!
