The new DPR has mineral oil in it and it's one of the first 3 ingredients. The new containter says DPR-11+

oh NO! ...Most product with mineral oil that high on the list usually gives me the wrose breakouts. I'm too old for acne...oh, well - just when I was singing DPR's praises.

Maybe I should go to Sally's tomorrow for a few jars before they are all gone...news like this travels fast.

Yeah, you might want to stock up. I saw the new formula at a bss and they had a few old containers on the shelf next to it.

Hey ladies . well i used the new gel and it is fine . its a little thinner... the old feels like silk was thick and gloppy but in a good way . the new formula is a much smoother consistancy . the smell and look of the gel is the same . and it still smooths my curls and gives them the soft hold i like . the new formula dries softer than the old gel, im not sure if i like that yet . i need hold for my hair to get 3 and 4 or even 6 day hair if i get lazy . so i guess ill really know by mid week and ill update . did anyone else like or hate new formula ?

Yeah, I just looked at Payne's Beauty Site and it is still showing pics of the Older Products. I assume the packaging/labeling has changed too?

IA: This would be an excellent time to Stock Pile the Original Formulas of the products you Love before it is completely off the shelves and replaced with the new.erplexed

Hey idare . they did change the packaging . i tried to in look for old bottles and i had no luck ! . the the gel is the only thing i use . but i was thinking of trying the dr11, guess i wont now that they added mineral oil to it ! i cant mess with that oil

Me too! I love the Creme Conditioning Shampoo. I will be stocking up on that and Mango Butter this afternoon. Hopefully the changes on these two products aren't that drastic though. erplexed

I think they only added olive oil to the mango butter. I couldn't tell a difference between the old and new. I love both.

Ok so I used the new "feels like Silk gel " on sat .. and today (wed) the results are after 4 days is .....the new gel had a lot less hold .. My curls have frizzed,and lost a lot of definition. It does not look horrible , but the hold of the old gel was better ... oh to the well I'll still use it ,until I find another similar gel .. not sure if I will .. it was is a unique gel . back to 2-3 day hair erplexed

I just started using the FLS on my daughters hair. I was going to started using the Mango Butter, but I decided to try Jane Carters's N&S instead. I was planning on trying the Mango Butter later. I went to the BSS that I go to yesterday and they still had plenty of the old bottle FLS, however, they only had 1 container of the old Mango Butter. I went ahead and got it because I would like to try it for comparison to the N&S vs the new stuff. I think I will use it on my DD's hair this weekend and see what I think. I hate when these companies change what works. Sorry the new version isn't working as well for you Honesis.

OT: how did you obtain that color? I've been trying to color my hair for the past 3 months and i've used all types of fire engine reds and light browns; added developers, etc and i get nothing...not even a drop of color... i'm texlaxed but transitioning to natural and i can't get any color to take... i guess what i'm asking is did you use a particular brand or did you get it done professionally?

What??? No wonder - i went to 50-11 bss to find DPR and it didn't even work on my hair. I wish i'd seen this thread before i bought it! It was my staple DC - nothing else even works

My hair is dry as the desert. However, my sister told me she mixed hers with honey and coconut oil and it did the job, but if it has mineral oil, i really don't want to use it.

I bought that gel a while back and used it once, I guess I didnt realize its a gel so I put it in my straight relaxed hair and it didnt go so well. But i bet it works great on ur curls, how can I get curls like that, they are beautiful!

Oh Wow, I purchased a jar of the DPR today but it was in the old plain black and white jar. It worked very well on my hair by the way, it smells great!

you should try l'oreal hi-color. its specially formulated for dark hair. i used the hi-lites in magenta on my hair with a 30 vol developer and it came out that color a reddish pinkish color it was so pretty and i have really dark hair

@ shee thanks . im natural and mom and daddy and the old feels like silk gel gave me the curls lol . off topic : im not sure if you used permanet color why your hair would not change , unless you dyed it black before that . my hair is naturally black . my hair was dyed dark blonde with textures and tones and i started using henna and it gave me this awesome red color . i henna once a month or so . if my hair was its natural black color you would not be able to see the red so well .i used clairol textures and tones color bronze and dark blonde to get the blonde color i had before ..
