Who didn't get fast/more growth from daily wasing/rinsing?

I know some things don't work for everyone but I've recently started cowashing/rinsing 3-4 times a week. I am 12 weeks post (transitioning) and I wanted to know if anyone had adverse effects, using this method?

tt8, I'm transitioning. I alternate the protein/moisturizing conditioner, use a leave-in, seal; I do it all. I like the feel of my freshly, cleansed hair and I have had no problems, so far. I just wanted to flesh out any potential problems. I'm a 4bcdefgh...

The reason why I decided to get serious about transitioning is because my last relaxer literally felt like my scalp was on fire! Prior to relaxing, I had stretched for about 4 months. I used Silk Elements Mild, which was always a good look for me but after the automatic burning sensation, I said, "No More!" Another inspiration for me: my sister did the Big Chop! You are talking about a woman who had waistlength hair! After a similar experience with relaxers and extreme shedding, she went the drastic route and cut ALL of her hair OFF! I am just not that brave. I'd prefer to ease into it.

congrats on your decision to go natural!. ive been cowashing everyday for the last 2 and an half years! :O i have yet to have a bad experience from it. its been a saviour for my hair.

hhg :)

Thanks silvergirl! I have viewed your album several times and was just AMAZED by your progress and your texture! I am going to see this transition through until I'm 100% natural.

My bad relaxer experience came at a time when I was trying to reconcile with my ex-husband. I guess EVERYTHING about me was so different that even a relaxer couldn't mask it. I wanted to have that "silky hair" he was used to. But, I'm not the same woman and my transition is an inward and outward expression of the changes I have and will continue to experience. And guess what? All of those experiences are positive, so my hair has some catching up to do!

O, ok. Good Luck...I hope it works out for you:grin:

I hope it works out too. I was tempted to relax my hair this weekend because I'm meeting the family of a guy that I'm dating. I simply thought to myself that I will not mess with my hair for another man again! If the flatirons don't cut it--it won't be cut!

I think you'd be hard-pressed to find, say, a natural 4b or even 4a that washes their hair daily and whose hair is longer than a few inches. It is inherently the most fragile hair type, washing causes tangles (at least I know it does on me), and detangling this fragile hair type from all that washing will not be a good thing.
