My scalp can't tolerate weaves. I got one put in and took it out like 4 hours later cause my scalp felt like it was on fire. Needless to say I've never done that again.
I transitioned for four months and had braids for 3 weeks out of the four months. Since I bc'd back in June I've been growing my hair out and don't plan to braid or weave it up.
Me!! I didn't transition and went straight to the BC. I have only had a weave once in my entire life (12 years ago), and it was a horrible experience. I only started braiding my hair last year in February (2 years after BC).
I've been transitioning for about 13 months, and I plan on continuing for 11 more or so. I'm not into weaves. I just stick to bunning (whether curly or straight) and be patient.
I transitioned from a texturizer to natural. I wet my hair everyday, used Aussie spray gel or IC Fantasia gel to smooth down bangs. The rest of my hair, I shingled as best I could and let it dry using roomie's difuser.
I have just started my transition (about 5 months in) and I don't plan on using weave. I like showing off my real texture in buns, which has been my main hairstyle for about 2 years now
While I have worn weaves before I never will again. I just mess my hair everytime I ever did it. That's why I started the wigs, but then I saw a wig pic that I took at work during our get together and was appalled! Lol.. So this transition will be done w/o the use of fake hair
