Smh @ some of these comments... It's a young girl for crying out loud. Yes she should have looked in the mirror before putting a style like that on yt BUT I have seen GROWN WOMEN with MANY subscribers who JUST CAME from the SALON with worse looking styles than that or as bad... So I think we're being hard on her. I thought there would be more comments trying to help... I didn't like or dislike it cause I felt it unnecessary for her to post it but dang ya'll had to put her out

I just figured she was "setting" the style w/gel and hair pins before she went to bed. And then plans to reveal the style in another "part 2" video, much like a lot of other youtubers. I'm not that familiar w/this person but I think she did a video proving she is part cherokee indian by using her mom.. the mom ended up having very thin "baby bird"-like hair if I'm not mistaken.

I understand where you are coming from...but I would suggest that you check out a few more of her videos. There have already been several threads about her, her hair and heritage floating around here. Check out, specifically, a few videos where she declares herself mixed (Native American Indian and Black). She later (in a later video) explains that her parents are black but the Indian heritage is at least 2+ generations back. (Let me digress long enough to explain that in her video, she first says maternal grandfather is Native American Indian only to contradict herself a few sentences later to say he is black and its her maternal grandmother who is 1/2 Native American and Black.) Somehow this all get stewed into her viewpoints about natural hair, relaxed hair, hair texture and in many cases, (she) implies that she has a texture/hair type different from what her videos show.
But, judge for yourself by watching a few videos in the 159 videos she has uploaded to YT. I think you will understand better after that.

I had to come back, because when I last posted, there was no good representation of the style (from MsVaughn) whe was intending to achieve. I applaud MsVaughn for her ingenuity. Unforntunately the young lady missed a few steps...yeah...I'm starting to notice a theme here (spray acv on hair...but don't rinse out...slick down hair...but don't go all the way around and pin it in the back...) To pp's who are sympathetic, though. You're right. It's just...I don't know...I can't...I'm not...I mean...I'm just sayin'!

I can actually picture the vintage look in my head, and I think I wore it too at one point or another when I had a jheri curl (and no, mind didn't drip but looked like wave nouveau), with a side part. I don't know who did it in YT but it's something like this:

You know after watching this video and thinking about my previous comments, I was like I kinda feel bad....then I realized I was just hungry...
Why are people feeling sorry for Bonnet Girl(where did that name come from?)...when the real victim is MsVaughn, if in fact her hairstyle was the inspiration for the madness noted in the BG's video, she is the one who deserves your pity, do you know how frustrating it can be when someone messes up your creation?

Cherokee-n-Black... I was being serious. I'm just mad I can't think of who in the limelight wore her curly hair like that, with pins and all. They went round forming a U shape so that the curls formed a horse-shoe shape around her head.
I have seen previous Bonnet Girl's vids that made me chuckle, but for some reason, I don't find this one funny. I don't find it sad either. It just doesn't do anything for/to me. It's one of those vids where I get what she was trying to accomplish, and I see where she went wrong...like the top of the do looks unkempt and I can think of how it could've been fixed with a comb or brush, while still keeping orderly waves if that's what she wanted, instead of the smoothness like Ms Vaughn.

Bonnet Girl is studying to be a counselor. How are you going to be taking seriously as a counselor when you act mentally unstable like that?

Wellll...I hate to say it, but if you get DNA-typed and you do have Native American blood, it does show up as "Asian." My cuz did this geneaology project and when that came out, for a hot minute the whole fam was like "WTF?" until they explained that.

I could see it if she posted it as a "just wanted to share my attempted FAIL. ha ha ha" But that was, "just wanted to show you what awesome thing I'm doing with my hair now, and one side just happens to be a little puffier..."

omegachick31, she earned that name, ya know? There was a YT beef between two other hair vloggers. Bonnet Girl made a video crying (really!) around about the beef and wanting kumbaya and such. Of course in the video, guess what she was wearing....it was discussed in a previous thread and she got a new moniker.
