thank you soooo much! i was worried about that one b/c of no warranty on ebay (i think)

glad to know no problems with it for either of you

I've had mine for over a year. No problems at all. :nono:

I always used Distilled Water and it's worked like a Champ:grin:

i just bought the one from salons r us - i dont know how it compares, and i have not used it yet, but i will post my experience was i crack it open and give it a try.

I have the one from SalonsRus too. Paid about $120 or something like that. I like it but, I sort of wish I'd bought a tabletop model because it takes up valuable storage space. And I often just keep in in my bathroom...which still takes up valuable space.

Works well tho.

I'M GONNA TRY TO ORDER TODAY!!!! I NEED A STURDY ONE THO......A GOOD ONE I WILL FOLLOW YOUR REFERRALS
THX SO MUCH

I bought mine from http://lclbeauty.com/. $129.77 (total, shipped) PRO-1037A - Professional Beauty Salon Hair Steamer.

I received it Tuesday and have used it twice. It was a breeze to put together. There is no delay with the steam coming out of it, has a 60 minutes timer, is quiet and automatically shuts off. Also, it was not so hot that it hurt my scalp. I have a TWA and my hair is c-napp, fine.

I've used it for a hot-oil treatment and to DC.

HTH

Co-sign except that I got the Pro-150 model in black! I got mine cheaper (for $99.77 + free shipping) because I used the "exoticmommies" promo code. It still works! Just type that into the code box and you can get $10 off. I LOOOOVE it! The only thing is that it does take up storage space but I just break it down and reassemble. It's a hassle but the results on my hair are worth it, and I prefer it to the tabletop ones because I am very short (only 4' 10") with a short torso so it's really hard to use something that's not adjustable and I am not trying to sit on phone books for the rest of my life.

^^^ I got one of those too...............Thanks again exoticmommie(i've had it for about 6 months and so far so good)

just used this for the 1st time yesterday. did a braid out afterwards and this is the best, most swanging braid out i have ever had. i think i am going to really like this thing!!

i got the steamer today....been under here for over an hour

WHERE IS THE DAMN STEAM!????? VERY LITTLE STEAM IS COMING OUT
ORDERED THE ONE EVERYONE HAS ABOVE
for what's coming out of here i could lean my head over a steaming cup of coffee

i called & explained just that to them....waiting for an "email" 2morrow :wallbash:

tHeHaIRLaB, your siggy freaks me out.

I have the SalonsRUs one, and I like it, but I agree with whomever said it takes up a lot of space.

STOP HATING ON MY SIGGY!!!:lachen::lachen::lachen:

DO YOU SEE A LOT OF STEAM IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE??? LIKE A HUGE CLOUD OF STEAM?????? I ORDERED....HOWEVER USED IT TWICE

TRYING TO DETERMINE IF THIS IS THE "NORMAL AMOUNT OF STEAM" OR IF THIS ONE JUST SUCKS:blush:

NO STEAM IS IN FRONT OF MY FACE....HAIR DOES GET ALL MOIST.... THE HOOD IS A LITTLE STEAM BUT I ACTUALLY CAN STILL SEE THRU IT

SOUND LIKE YOUR EXPERIENCE????

Hi,

Not to hijack your thread, OP, but I have a question about steamers. Please forgive me if this question has already been asked.

Do those of you who use them have them as dryer replacements? Or do you still have (and use) your dryers and/or heat caps? Do you use the steamer one week and the dryer the next week?

Thanks!

I don't use my dryer to DC my hair as the steamer imo is a more effective method. Although I've read some ladies do alternate between their steamer and dryer.

too many stuffy people around here..... hijack away!!!! your $6.50 works much like mine

I have the black lightweight version from SalonsRUs. It does a great job steaming, HOWEVER, I can't use it anymore because the stand broke a while ago. Cheap thing broke at the bottom where the plastic is supposed to stop the pole from hitting the ground.

I sure did love it tho. I was steaming 2x a week with that bad boy. My hair stayed moisturized longer than DCing without heat.
