Pantene lovers like the smooth and sleek conditioner as well as the new "relaxed and natural" conditioner. I don't think anyone uses the shampoo though.
BTW, this question belongs on the Hair products discussion board

I've never tried the pantene for african americans, but I love the Pantene hydrating curls. It's my favorite instant grocery store conditioner.

Just bought a bottle (Pantene Hydrating Curls)...I LOOOOOVVVVEEEE IT!!! (singing in my opera voice)...definetly a keeper!

FYI...the pantene hydrating curls and the relaxed and natural formula are exactly the same. The only difference is that the relaxed and natural line has jojoba and coconut oil in it. So, if I had to choose, I'd pick the relaxed and natural.

Thanks De...that is truly helpful...I will get that the next time.

Is hydrating curls better than smooth and sleek. I just bought a bottle and if it is no good I will take it back.

i've always loved pantene products, esp. the conditioners... long before the relaxed & natural came out... i'm 4a texture.

The ingredients are identical. Check out the ingredients list next time you have a chance.

Even though the ingredients are identical, they don't all work the same. At least the Pantene Smooth and Sleek and Daily Moisture Renewal don't. When I tried the DMR, my hair was like

The ingredients for Smooth N' Sleek and the ingredients for Hydrating Curls are identical. I've tried both products and both have given me great slip.

I haven't tried the DMR. I'll check it out next time I'm in Walmart.

I think the ingredients for the DMR are identical to the Smooth and Sleek but I can't remember though.

One of these will be my next purchase. I'm looking for a good, inexpensive conditioner for CO washes!! We don't have R&N in Canada. THANKS!!!

All of the pantene conditioners have the same ingredients, except the r&n line, I checked into it a while ago. I use s&s, because it is cheaper than r&n.

I thought this is where we discuss products? The other board is a product exchange one. This is the hair care tips and product review board, so I think this is where she should post...correct me if I am wrong.

All the "white" pantene conditioners are essentially the same - Daily Moisture Renewal being the most moisturizing, followed by Hydrating Curls but there isn't a ton of difference. The R&N line was specifically formulated for AA hair - you could skip the conditioner, the most innovative thing about the line is the shampoo and the leave-in creme. Trust me on this one, I have a little "inside" scoop on the brand, if you know what I mean

[/ QUOTE ] I went to a BSS that imports the R&N line. He wanted $10.99 for the conditioner, so I went to Wal-Mart across the street and bought one bottle of S&S and one Hydrating Curls.

Well, I tried the S&S last night and WOW!!

A true keeper!!
grin.gif
I'll try the Hydrating Curls this week-end and let you know the comparison. I can't imagine it being better than the S&S, though!!

BTW, I used the Pantene Classic Care conditioner a few weeks ago. No comparison to the S&S.

....'cause if you do, can you get them to consider CANADA in their distribution for Relaxed & Natural?!?!?

I am liking the hydrating curls better than the Smooth and Sleek I don't know why though, the ingredients are the same maybe they add something that they don't have listed.

or maybe they just use different amounts of the same product

L.Mo - R&N is working on its distribution to get into both North American beauty supply outlets as well as into the Canadian market. I *think* there is some work being done to get R&N launched globally for WOAD (Women of African Descent).

Just trust me when I say that I know some inside scoop

As an update, I tried the Hydrating Curls today. My bottles don't have the ingredient list, but they are definitely not the same.

Firstly, the S&S was more of a creamy consistency and was white in colour. The HC was thicker, a transcluscent clear colour and it was of a stiffness that held its tube-like shape when squeezed from the tube into my hand.

Interestingly, they seem to do as they say. I found that the S&S was very "silky" and gave my hair good slip. I'll probably use it when I plan to wear a straight style.

The HC seemed to impart more moisture, but I didn't find that it gave me as much slip. Now, my hair isn't dry yet, so I can give the final verdict tomorrow....

Same here- the title of this board is "Hair Care Tips and PRODUCT review board" meaning we review products (shampoo) on this board. That is what many of these posts are- talking about and asking about shampoo brands.

I heard from soneone that it's the Pantene in the "orange" bottle. She says that's the line that is marketed to us.
I've never tried it though.
