I'm going to be straightening my hair this weekend.

Me, being the hair nutball that I am :spinning: - I've been contemplating how I should approach it.

Is it better to use moderate heat, but for a longer time?

Or is it better to use high heat to just get the job done faster?

I can't decide which one would be more damaging...

bite that bullet, grab a book, and set yourself up to sit under medium heat for 90 mins. it's agonizing but in my experience your hair will come out a lot better.

Thanks for responding ladies!

I know... it does seem like it'd be less damage. I was leaning toward less heat, but I dunno...

If you have to use the dryer twice as long or you have to swipe your hair twice as much, is it still less damage?

I'm really curious to see how the poll will turn out with more votes :scratchch

I would go with a rollerset then flat iron on low/medium as opposed to blow dry then flat iron or airdry in braids and flat iron on high.

I think it all boils down to direct or indirect heat. I would take the chance and use indirect heat on high but not direct; my hair is too fragile.

Very high heat no matter how long can cause irreversable damage or literally melt your hair off so I chose moderate heat for a longer time.

Higher heat is more damaging.
