I'm soooo mad right now! :wallbash:
I ordered my Vatika Coconut Oil from a store on Amazon...the bottle was delivered dirty and look str8 beaten up lookin...I open it up and the oil is not even oil!...its hardened to a paste!!

I examine the bottle to find a 2007 expiration date!! So I am abt to seek a refund and this sets me back on my new routine!

Where's the best...not too pricey...place to buy it?? Thanks!!

Oooh sorry to hear about that. I get mine from a local Indian market. India Sweets & Spices. Like the other ladies said, any local Indian grocer should have it, as it is very popular. It may be solid (depending on the temp of the store), and if so, putting it in a bowl of warm water will make it liquid again :)

Check the expiration dates at the Indian markets too, I have noticed a lot of expired things in there, I am not sure if it effects the quality of the oil or not.

If you have no local Indian grocer, try kamdarplaza.com. They have a grocery here in Chicago but sell online too. I like that they don't mark up as horribly as most online Indian grocers.

Also, keep in mind that Indian products generally are stamped with the date of manufacture rather than the date of expiration. They are considered to be good for 3 years past the date of production.

I haven't seen your bottle of Vatika and they've changed the package recently but a lot of complaints about "expired" product come from this difference in labeling between Indian and American companies. Just double check the label.

Thanks for this!!!!!!!

Coconut oil is solid at room temparature. It's not going to look liquid/like oil until you heat it up in a microwave or until you rub it in your hands for a few seconds
