Anyone?

I would like to have them someplace online to share, but where a person won't be able to copy them. I am ready to start a hair journal so that I can monitor my growth! Yes! /images/graemlins/grin.gif

You should be aware though that it doesn't matter what you do, if a person can see your picture online there isn't any 100% full proof way to stop them from copying it. Even if you disable right-clicking (which you can't do unless you design the webpage yourself) the picture will still be in their cache.

I'm not trying to discourage you from making your journal (Cuz I LOVE those and plan to start one myself.) I just want you to be aware of that once you put them up, like it or not they can be copied.

That being said I like the ones I see on picturetrail.com and I think some ladies here use that fotki site also.

Happy Journaling! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I personally don't know of any site that can stop people from copying pics without permission. I'm not saying they don't exist (though Ennyaa is probably correct), just that I don't know of any. For instance, picturetrail doesn't allow you to copy the thumbnails, but (not meaning to scare anyone) it's dirt easy to copy the larger versions of the thumbnails. I would love to find a site where my pics would be safe, though.

Thanks ya'll. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Oooh...I can't wait! I think I will create a password for a little bit more control. I'll let yah know when it's up! Probably in January after I get my weave. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Believe me, every image you see on a webpage is either stored in the cache or you can just right-click it and save it. There is no site that can prevent this. Password protection is probably your best bet if you're worried about that.
It's nothing to really agonize over but *shrug* that's just the way of the internet.

since my big chop im trying to start a journal as well. i've taken two pictures so far and i think i will be taken some every 3 months to monitor the growth.

There's absolutelty no way to prevent copying of your photo. you can easily right click on a page and copy the entire javascript....or you could even hit the print screen and paste in clip art or whatever....if they have a mac, forget it.

Heezy. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Heheheeee. Okay, here's what'll happen. If I decide to share them (I'm choosing picturetrail), I shall place the password on it a few days or so later. Eesh. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Thanks for your input. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I want to create a hair journal, too. But I'm gonna wait until I have some "after" photos. The 'before' is just too scary!
I'm not worried about people copying them for their own personal use, but I wouldn't want them used on someone else's site. Or God forbid some kind of "Bushy Haired Black Babes" jungle fever fetish porno site. (This happened to some people at nc.com)
I like Picturetrail. You can always make your face blurry or only take pictures of your back and profile.

Even if you disable right-clicking on Picture Trail, your picture can still be taken/copied? Oh well. So much for me having an account on Picture Trail. I won't even bother.

Aww I don't want you to be discouraged cuz I love journals. To be honest someone would REALLY have to want to get your picture to go through all that. And they'd also need to know how to access their cache which I'm surprised a lot of people don't. I doubt if you blurred your face or something that anybody would really bother. Plus if you password protect it you can give it out only to people that you want to see your pics. Ya know like us ladies on LHCF! /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thanks for the reply. I know exactly how to access my cache, and you are so right. /images/graemlins/blush.gif It really isn't that difficult. I went back and saw ALL of the pictures that I had seen on the internet (which was a lot since I never clear out and/or delete my cache. Thanks for the heads up.
