Hi all- I'm new to LHCF...after lurking a few days I made the great decision to join. I love natural products for myself and my family and I love the idea of using coconut oil, EVOO and all that good stuff. Just want to know which sites I can get the best quality products from-all suggestions are welcome. TIA

You can get lots of oils from the grocery store :yep:

They should have coconut oil and evoo there!

Welcome to lhcf! :D

I purchase EVOO from the grocery store. For coconut oil, you can try Vitacost.com, TraderJoes, WholeFoods etc.,

I purchase the more common oils such as coconut and olive oil from the grocery store. If you have a local health food store or indian grocery store, you could find alot there too. Good luck and WELCOME!

I guess I wasn't sure if the ones in the grocery store were OK to purchase...I grew up seeing my family use coconut oil back in Jamaica so living here in S. Florida it should be easy to find. Thanks, ladies!

I also get more common oils from the grocery store such as olive oil, I go to a local health food store for my Jojoba oil, Coconut, Avocado and sweet almond oil. The brand i use is NOW, its excellent.

GNC- Tea tree oil, peppermint oil, jojoba oil
Whole Foods Market - Castor oil, coconut oil, sweet almond oil
Costco - for the H-U-G-E extra virgin olive oil
Big Lots - Grapeseed oil
Sam's online - Jamaican black castor oil

The Indian markets are your best bets. Whole Foods,Trader Joe's will stick it to you 5x's higher than what they should be.

Try a nearby health food store. The quality of their oils are usually better than what they sell in a regular grocery store. Also, if you have an Indian store, check there for Ayurveda oils and powders.

I get my Spectrum brand coconut and olive oils from the supermarket. I get my Now brand almond and jojoba oils from GNC. I get my emu oil from The Vitamin Shoppe.

Try the healthfood stores. (Whole Foods or Vitamin shoppe) I order a lot on the net. You want the unrefined oils. Please do not pick up that Lou Ann Coconut oil at the grocery store. As a newbie, I didnt know any better and did just that.

You can find Spectrum in some grocery stores. I like a few of their oils as well.
