Where are you buying your wigs?....in the UK

This question is mostly directed at the UK ladies.

I really want to start wearing full wigs - with a fringe(not just Instant Weaves) once in a while to completely hide my hair.

I would like to know where you are mainly buying your wigs....in the shop or on the internet?

If on-line, do they look as good as they do on the screen or are you often disappointed? Also, is there a no-return policy if you've tried it on?

Also, my head is little large :perplexed so do they stretch quite a lot?

Hiya...
I have tried loads of wigs, but i have to say that so far, i have been dissapointed by them all. The fringe ones end up looking lumpy and awful, and other ones....i wont even go there:perplexed

This being said, many west indian salons can make a fringe wig on your head.
I prefare this anyway because you can choose the coulour and length, and obviously, the fit is better since the wig is specifically made to suite you.
Pricing, hmm...you have to pay about £38 for 2 packs of good quality weave extensions, then about £50 (maybe less) to get the wig done for you.

I feel you on the bad wigs thing!:perplexed I tried to buy a wig for the first time and I was not impressed, even though the girl tried her hardest to sell it to me telling me i looked good, when it made me look 50! :lachen:  I would say get a custom wig made, it will cost you more, but will fit a lot better! pm me for details of a good stylist, if your in need of one in London.

Wow this is shocking. I can't believe there is nowhere for us to buy a decent wig in the London/UK.

Has anyone bought one off the internet?

Isn't there a wig/hair extension superstore somewhere? - Isaw an ad in a magazine once but can't remember the address.

Looks like i'll be sticking to Instant Weaves.....and the styles for them aren't all that either.

If you go to a bootleg place lol! like crown and Glory, i think they could make a wig cap weave thingy for much cheaper. I know they're weaves are £25 so that'll prob be the cost of the wig.

LOL@ Sweetwhispers! How did I know you were going to come in here talking about crown and glory?

Have to tried PAK in Finsbury park? I haven't been there for years but from what I remember they had LOADS.

A wig cap is better though, as it's made and cut on your head, just don;t let them glue it on... They will try!

Come on Guapalol!- £25 for weave/ kinky twists, £40 braids/£20 cornrows(ext)- yeah you have to be up at the crack at dawn but i'm cheaaaap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well my weave stylist is GREAT at making a cap, she will style it anyway you want cut included allf or £45. Or you could try a lace front...even sleek is making lacefronts now ive seen a lot of people with lacefronts on. I PERSONALLY do not like store bought wis(lace been the exception) because they all look tacky in my opinion whether there from UK or USA i think they look poor...
