At what length were you able to bun your hair into a bun?

Because I cut my hair so much, I am now able to bun with my installed marley twists extensions. I'm glad to know what a bun would look like if I could ever stop chopping my hair off based on these twists.

A little bit shorter than full shoulder length. I would say around 6-7 months after my big chop.

Thanks guys I did a spontaneous big chop back in august and I've been in protective styles (yarn twists) since jan and just wanted to know how long before I'd be able to bun as an alternative

Straight hair at: SL-CBL

Natural 4b non-straight hair: APL

Natural 4b twisted hair: APL - BSL

Well, what kind of bun?

I've been faux bunning since I could make a puff really. A true bun... I can't make now unless my hair is straight... which it never is. Even if I blow dry it , my hair doesn't get anywhere near straight enough to bun effortlessly.

I could bun at shoulder length but it was a struggle bun. I can only do really nice buns within the last 2 months now that im below bra strap. Heres a pic of it now. Nice and full with 3 bobby pins.

Between SL and APL. I can bun my hair now and it's between SL and APL when I blow dry it, but it's not as full as I would like. I can't wait until it's long enough to bun in it's natural state, but who knows when that is because my shrinkage is CRAZY.
