I have trimmed since August 06 bc my ex stylist cut off alot of hair. Since its getting warm and I will be wearing my hair up all the time. I wont get a trim till my next flat iron which will probably be in like September or something. I think
I generally trim and dust every 6-8 weeks- at least until all the hair is even and the shorter lengths catch up with the long ones. I'm really not that commited to a schedule, but it's around the time I color my hair and I'm really focusing in on the hair. Kind of like exam time for my hair. If I see some strands that look like they are starting to split or knot- snip! As I section off parts for coloring (or just flat ironing- that might trigger the snipping event as well, lol!) and I see how some hairs are scraggly up against some nice ends, I snip the smooth and scragglies to even it out. Once it's all even, that will all stop though.
I trim every six months now. My last trim was in January. I've been doing it for the last few years and my hair loves it. I never worry about split ends or uneven ends anymore.
November was my second trim in my life. My hair gre wback real quick though, even though i'd taken off a bit of length. I don't use heat/dye/wear my hair down so i don't think i'll need another for a while. I might dust though.
i got one today because i relaxed. i was starting to retain length but it was uneven. i think i let her trim too much even though i know it was badly needed.
I am waiting a year to go and get a trim just dusting until then. right now from looking at my ends, they have recovered from my crazy chops just fine and my hair continues to flourish.
I trimmed every six months last year and ended up cutting an inch each time! This year, I decided that I would dust every four months (as needed) to maintain thick ends and so far so good. I only dust 1/4 inch and my ends are happy .
sometime last year between oct-december. I dont remember exactly when. I am transitioning, and I plan on trimming about 1" every 4 months until I am 100% natural.
Yesterday when i got my touch up. Before that, my last trim was in May 2005 two years without trimming and i only lost about 1 inch when it was time to do it. i am definitely gonna keep doing it how i have been doing it.
