It depends. At any point in time during the conversation did he ask for yours and if so did you decline?
I'm in a relationship now but I can't recall ever meeting a guy who hasn't asked me for my number initially before giving or offering his. The offer usually came because I am very reluctant to hand out my phone number.
With that being said, when I was on the dating scene, I hardly if ever gave out my number. I like to control the situation and deciding if and when a guy was worth dialing those seven digits. I've learned in my early 20s that some dudes can become rather annoying and now I’m stuck with you having access to my telephone number, no thanks.
Now I did not do this all of the time; if I found that a guy had severely piqued my interest then I would exchange numbers and there was never a need to say “you should call me” because the guy would know that he should and that he was lucky to receive my number.
