Well I am sorry that you inferred that from my Avi :ohwell: . But with that pic, I was not claiming anything and I wasn't pulling two strands. I will claim BSL when I am fully there. I actually plan on claiming MBL and bypassing BSL all together because to me BSL is so confusing.

I thought you were pulling strands, too. It looks like fingers cut off on the bottom holding the strands, so I can see where she got that from. But people doing that to claim length doesn't really bother me - to each his own.
In any case, since I haven't gotten my hair shaped, my hair has the crazy natural layers so the front is like EL, so I will claim when the layer at my nape comfortably rests at the milestone when straightened.

I chose the 1st option...

I didn't think people claimed a goal when they tilted their head back to get it. Like, i've seen the pictures, but just didn't know people claimed it. I selected when most of my hair is there. If a patch is shorter than the rest, I'm still going to claim the length that MOST of my hair is at.

Is that a bantu knot out in your siggy?

I will claim when my nape reaches that length, because my hair grows in layers, anyway. If I waited for most of my hair to catch up, I will be waiting forever. I know my hair, so the nape or up to where the ears are is what I consider when a goal is reached.:yep::yep:

I may be confused, but the "majority of the back" seems relative. I voted for nape, thinking that took in consideration of hair up to where the ears are. I dunno, but I may have skewed the poll:look:.

I know that most of the challenges are for stretched or straighten hair and even though I follow the rules of the challenge, my inner personal thought is.... When my hair reaches the ultimate goal unstretched or straitened (blow dried maybe) and I have beautified it at that length....Then I have truly reached my ultimate goal.

I don't have a black model to use as an example yet, but I look at Cinnamonhair... When she reached knee length, it was not pretty. She decided to hold there and did gradual trims to maintain at that length. Now it is a pretty knee length (true knee length in my eyes).

So.... when my hair is pretty at classic... I'll continue on to mid-thigh and repeat the process.

Also I think when the back of the hair reaches the goal it's there.... because some people, me being one of them, have their hair cut in layers. So it depends on the hairstyle....

I added a link so you can see what I mean about getting to a goal then making it pretty...

I have layers - intentionally. So, this for ME will mean when the longest part of my layer reaches. It does not have to be "blunt" to count IMO.
I will claim when I reach the body part as described by using the body chart.
- I am def' not concerned if others validate that I have reached my goal, or will I wait for ones to "issue" my status.
So, #3 I guess.
*Kanye shrug*

I claim apl even though my nape is past apl on its way to bsb. Brastrap is also confusing to me b/c some women wear them high and some wear them low. Mbl is also confusing to me too but I didn't want make a thread about. Idk:perplexed

I think when the back reaches that goal length. I will always have layers-so the top will always be shorter. If I wait til every piece of hair is that length-it will never happen because I WILL always want some layers!

:lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen: When 3-5 hairs reach!!!! I voted 1st option. I believe when most of your hair reaches that point.

I voted when majority of my hair reaches that length. Like now I have a few strands at APL but I wont claim it until a bit more of my hair reaches that point. I am not waiting on the front to get that long because I have my hair cut in bangs and layers

I will secretly claim it when I see one hair.:yep: I'll tell u ladies when the lower level reaches (I think it's called nape).

I picked answer number 3. Because..
1- My hair is layered & i LOVE long layers, so when i get to my dream length i will be rocking long layers!
2- My hair grows in a V shape. AND..
3- when i was natural my hair was forming into a mullet:lachen::ohwell: aka my nape was longer & looser then the front.

So if i waited for all my hair to catch up, my nape would be TBL and my front & sides would WL:blush:

But then again, I don't wear those big orthopedic bras that some use to make BSL with. lol

I NEED THE SUPPORT DANG IT!!! Don't judge me!! :lachen::lol::lachen:

j/k I'm not anywhere near BSL.... I just wear the big ol' orthopedic bras. :look: I said don't judge me! :look: .... Carry on. :lachen:

EDTA: I voted for option #3. My grass is in layers so I do three points honestly. In the front, from the middle, and from the nape. (Not for showing off to others but more so to gauge where and how my grass is growing)

When majority of the hair in the back half of my head naturally hangs to the goal line when straightened.

blaaaah blaaaaah.
check the siggie. 1 strand, 5 stands...I'm there boo!
i don't care about the strand police, lol! i celebrate all my successes. probably how i avoid hairrexia.. i never compare, and acknowledge even the smallest growth. i claim, go by full, then claim my next milestone.

Voted #1 even though I prefer to claim it when most of my hair is a little past each landmark. The BSL thing is ambiguous to me, I go by BSB.

I chose "Most of my hair in the back reaches a length goal". Because it just makes sense. But then again it gets a bit confusing when you get past waist length as I was saying in one other thread. If you have a "high ***" then you might just get to tailbone a lot faster than someone else... Just saying. But I like to have a good percent of my hair in the back in that "range" before I can claim that length goal. It's better than lying or playing myself I guess.
