Just curious. Sometimes i see folks pulling on two hairs and saying they made their goal. I am trying to get some perspective. Thanks.

Oh and I choose the first answer.

I am going by the top of my head, my nape grows faster than the rest of my hair and I have a tail. My hair doesn't grown even, the front is slow so i pick the middle because its neutral. ssl

Definately when most of my hair reached the same length especially since it was layed it's uneven so to be accurate for me.

I say when about 85% of my hair reaches that point. No pulling, stretching, arching my back it has to fall there naturally. The camera should show as natural a pose as possible.

If its not there I won't claim it and if it's not healthy I won't claim.

Health before Length.

choose the first option

my hair has too many layers, if I wait for my whole head of hair to reach BSL my nape will be butt length

when measure I usually grab a piece of hair right at level with my ear, I figure thats abt quarter to half way up my head.

Kind of like your avi? haha I have no issue with people pulling their hair taught like that to show length, but me personally, I'd rather go by how it hangs when straight. I'm BSL with my hair just hanging, but MBL when I pull it. I tend to claim BSL. When I can pull it and it hit my waist then I will claim WL tho. Don't judge me. lol

I claim APL even though pieces of my hair reach BSL. Don't understand the bolded.

I asked the question, because it was ironic what you mentioned in your initial post--you are actually doing in your avi. Since you are displaying yourself pulling a few strands instead of the picture you just posted--it must mean something to you. :drunk:

Well I am sorry that you inferred that from my Avi :ohwell: . But with that pic, I was not claiming anything and I wasn't pulling two strands. I will claim BSL when I am fully there. I actually plan on claiming MBL and bypassing BSL all together because to me BSL is so confusing.

I wasn't trying to offend you, moreso just poking fun.

And yes, I agree with you on the BSL v. MBL thing. The difference between the two for me is like 2 inches. But then again, I don't wear those big orthopedic bras that some use to make BSL with. lol

Oh no worries. I get you tho, I'm not that bold haha.

BSL is just weird yah know? It's different for each person and depending on what kind of bra, or the thickness? And the shoulder blade thing is weird for me too. Mid Back seems simple enough. Mid back is supposed to be when the hair passes the bra? My itty bitty bras are only like an inch long, that doesn't seem right.

And I think that unless you can get your hair bone straight, it's difficult to tell as well. If I would have set my flat iron higher or did more passes, I'm sure my hair would have been longer in that pic. But to me it wasn't worth it. And when I was trying to pull that strand, it distorted the pic as well, making my blunt cut seem more lopsided.

I chose when my hair at my nape reaches a goal - my hair was bc'ed evenly so although the strands are fairly equal in length, it falls in a different place depending on where the hair is on my head. I also pull my hair, but that's because I wear my hair curly 98% of the time so I need to stretch it. I don't pull it when it's straight though.

I chose the first but I'm really not sure.:nono: That's one of the reasons why I don't label my length, it can be ambiguous and frustrating. I like to go by pictures and "hair milestones" (being able to puff, then pony tail, then bun, etc). I know I'm the minority on this but that's just me....:look:

iHatechu. To answer the kwershin, I prefer to wait until my hair is actually PAST a certain length before claiming it. For instance, with BSL, my hair was well past BSL before I claimed. I think folks should wait til most of their hair rests comfortably at a certain point before claiming it. 4-5 strands stretched doesn't count.

I didn't think people claimed a goal when they tilted their head back to get it. Like, i've seen the pictures, but just didn't know people claimed it. I selected when most of my hair is there. If a patch is shorter than the rest, I'm still going to claim the length that MOST of my hair is at.
