Okay, so I was bored today.

Everyone has goals, right? And you need a map or plan to get there. :lachen:

So, here's mines. I will use this picture to compare to my actual length check pics while on my journey.

Question....do you agree on the inch numbers designated for APL and BSL? My alien fingers are showing the tip of the bra.

Do you have a similar pic?

My goal was to make it to full SL by May 9; I don't think that's going to happen so I'll probably venture to say full SL by August when I start grad school...
 
Basically, I plan to grow my hair out for 4 years. I'm just curious as to how much hair I can grow in that time. So however much hair I have on March 1, 2013, will be it for me. I will go into maintenance mode from that point on and stop doing length checks.

I think your measurement lines are on point. I also have a starting pic, but I haven't posted my pics yet. Hope to do that soon.

I dont have a pic with my shirt on and pointing out stuff but I do have goals. Which I list in my fotki yearly...
From my starting pic I wanted to be SL in a year which I achieved.
From SL I wanna be APL by by Jun09, IDK if imma make it.
My 3rd year goal will be BSL and I may wanna maintain that..IDK
 
I don't have a pic like that..... plan was to make APL by June 09. Not sure if I'll make it by that time..... my hair about 1 inch shorter then it is in my sig since I trimmed. And I plan to be full APL or maybe longer by Dec. 09.
 
Oh, this is good. I will (hopefully) post a timeline pic soon. I hope to reach full APL by June '09 and BSL by December '09. These could take a while as I am fairly tall :rolleyes:.

We will see after that if I want additional length.
 
I don't want to put any pressure on myself as stressing myself out over not meeting my goals won't help. That said it would be nice to get to APL by December 09 and BSL by the following December, but if it doesn't happen that's okay. Health, strength and added thickness are my priorities at the moment.

i was hoping for BSL by May but as I am barely grazing APL now I don't see that happening. I adjust my dates so much that I would be making a new pic every two months to reflect my disappointments/achievements!
 
I need to do something like this so that I can start keeping track of my progress. I also need to figure out a way to do length checks since I don't straighten and I can't stretch my hair with my own hand.
 
Jamaicalovely, that's a great idea. I think I'll create one of those too. My mini goal is to be MBL by June-July 09. My ultimate goal is to be waist length by Dec 09. After that I will just concentrate on retaining my length.

I'm making conservative estimates:

Full SL for Summer 09
APL for Winter 09-10
BSL for Summer 10

Well right now I"m in a weird stage between NL and barely touching SL- not stretched/straightened. The last time I straightened I was completely touching SL, maybe a 1/4 inch below. I don't plan to straighten again- I"m not into the smell of burnt hair and I'm in love with my natural hair so I'm aiming for APL by the end of this year and BSL by next summer.

and this is what's happening to me now.

Thats why I'm not gonna give myself a timeline anymore.
 
After bcing I'm the same length as when I started my hair journey nl/sl layers.. I hope to be full sl in Aug.. I know I wont reach apl this year but I'll be on my of working towards it!
 
My goal is to be full SL/APL by the end of December. By my friend's wedding (May 2010), I want to be full APL/BSL. By the end of December '10, I want to be full BSL/WL.
 
Its hard for me to give myself a timeline because I am wearing twists w/ extensions while I grow out my natural hair. I know I'm definitely reaching my goals very fast. I'm assume that within 6-9 months, I'm probably going to be SL. I'm more concerned about working with my texture, thickness and health of my natural hair.
 
The goals in my siggy are what I would love to do in an ideal situation (though i did get almost 1.5in during the last 2 months) My goals are more motivation to keep striving for healthy natural hair. I acheive my goals when I do.:ohwell: I think some goals are unfair for tall ppl (almost 6 foot WL is like almost 3 ft of hair) but my ultimate goal is to have BSL natural healthy hair (unstretched).

BSL - December 2009
MBL - August 2010 (3 Year anniversary)

So if that works out as planned, I would have taken 3 years to go from NL to MBL.
 
I don't really have a set time-line. I'm about 2" to APL in the nape though and I've been trying for a while to just reach APL. I only have a rough goal to reach BSL by mid 2010. Overall, I'm trying to shift the focus from length to health though. I believe with healthy hair, longer hair will just be a by-product anyway.
 
I made a timeline when I found the site, and I'm right on schedule!

BSL-July '09
MBL-Nov '09
WL-May 2010 (I gave myself x-tra time to reach this one)

Right now I'm about 1" from BSB, so in july I will be there.

I'm new at this so I am still seeing how fast my hair can grow (and retain) on a consistent basis. I am also testing out some growth aides. I am trying to make SL by June 09. Then hopefully APL by Nov.
 
I think I am going under braids for 6 months to retain some lenght. With the regimen I am currently on. I think it's very possible to come close if not meet APL by Oct.09 with the braids.
 
I used to have one, but now my motto is "It'll get there when it gets there", :grin:l. My hair grows at different rates depending and I got tired of trying to figure out exactly when it would reach what point. But I admire those who can pin-point exactly where there hair is going to be at what time.
 
my original goal was to be apl by august, but I measured last night and I'm only an inch away. I'm scared to adjust my goals though, I'd be disappontef if I didn't make them. I'm thinking I might get braids for two months and hopefully I'll have a nice surprise when I take them down! The bsl goal by December is just for fun, idk if I'll really make it.
