My greatest LHCF find is ALL OF YOU!!!!!
:dance7:

Seriously all the products and techniques on the forum would be nothing without my fellow Hair Divas to comment, explain, encourage, warn, review, and share every detail of the hair game. So thanks "My Best LHCF Finds"!!!!

Hands down it's been Henna. I would have never ever thought to henna my hair. Other products I've tried I might've found in time but the henna is the best thing ever for my hair.

If I could only pick one, it would have to be DCing, because I had no idea what that was or how important it was.

However, I must also add that learning to wash in braids, how to detangle properly and the importance of protective styling were huge finds as well.

And last but not least, finding out that it was possible for black women to grow hair to great lengths.

I Twist-outs!!!!!!

OT: Your twist out is very cute...how do you keep your ends from unraveling? Do you twist on wet, damp, or dry hair? I'm a braid out girl, but I want to rock a twist out so badly...also do you flat twist or do you single twist? TIA

Hey thanks! :drunk:

I do six flat twists going from front to back. I like to air dry about 90%, then twist. I also re-twist for a couple nights on dry hair.

I use a moisturizer like elasta qp mango butter or just plain ol conditioner, plus mousse. Once I have 2 or more twists done, I pin the ends of them together with bobby pins to keep from unraveling.

hope this helps!! :)

really? only one?

In my short time as a member, I'd have to say that my one "aha-moment" hair thing has been protein; then baggying. Then it would be co-washing (I had forgotten how important that was). And recently, I'd have to say that Amla Hair and Vatika Coconut Hair Oils are my newest hair saviors!

(I am really thinking about henna and indigo, now, so those may be next year's great find. :yep:)

Wow just one?...can't LOL: Products: S-curl, chelating shampoo (particularly ORS) and ORS replenishing condtioner

Techniques: moisture protein balance, pre-poos and learning how different proteins affect the hair.

ETA: and LYE vs. no LYE relaxer effects on my hair

i LOvE THIS BOARD TOO!! So I must say the best thing I ever did was join.....

Secondly

I must say Jamaican Black Castor oil..wow this re grew my edges post pregnancy, my eyelashes and eyebrows...and made my fingernails strong and white. I also love love love ORS hair mayo, silk elements moisturizing, and meeting some of the smartest ladies ever....a great collection of women here on this board...I refer to you guys so much all of my friends and family are very use to me saying..." Well the girls on my hair board said..." LOL

I have two. For my first year of growing out my natural hair it was Aveda Damage Remedy treatment.
Now reading post about hair reverting its: Sabino Moisture Block, now they call it Loc and Bloc. If I would have not known about this forum, I would have NEVER lasted this long as a natural because of my reversion in the outside weather when my hair is straight.
It's so funny cause alot of times when I "think" I know it ALL about my hair, I read a post from someone else and then I learn something new!

I have so many:

Products
Giovanni Products
Oils
Trader Joe's Nourish Spa
Henna/Indigo
MegaTek
And a host of others :lachen:

Technique
Moisturizing & protecting my ends
The fine art of detangling
Protein/Moisture Balance
Avoiding Sulfates
Clarifying

Styling
Twistout and knowing I can style my natural hair without heat straightening.

Mizani Rose H2O Conditioning Hairdress.

Before I discovered this I could never use a daily moisturizer because everything was too heavy for my fine strands. This is the best $20 I ever parted with.
