Are you experiencing any specific hair problems with your current regi?

Breakage?
Dryness?
Not retaining length?

Are you relaxed? Are you natural? If relaxed, how often do you touch-up? Do you deep condition regularly? How much hair are you working with? How do you normally style your hair? Flatiron? Rollerset? Wash and go?

Better yet, do you have any photos (these usually help the ladies see what you're working with)?

not to be rude but if u read the whole thread it answers all of your questions i realax no earlier than 8 weeks. and thats a good idea i should indeed post pics u guys dont have any idea what to prescribe me with out a diagnoses lol( aahhhh spelling sooo wrong sorry)

Sorry but there's too much junk in that thread. You posted a fresh question on this board so I gave a fresh answer.

Not everyone is going to want to suffer through those previous threads to find the answers, you know? :wallbash:

My honest opinion is if you feel your regimen is working, why stop? Everybody's hair is different. There are alot products that I don't like and/or use for whatever reason that other people swear by. It looks like you are both moisturizing and getting protein in so again, if you haven't noticed any ill affects from it, maybe it is working for you.

thanks im sooo nervous b/c alot of people give me greif about the PINK line but i heard it from the best if it workin dont stop now lol thanks ladies i think i might stick with the PINK but im always open to new and better

OP, if you like the Pink Oil line, stick with it. You will find that:

Lots of ladies are natural, lots are relaxed.

Some ladies don't use commercial products, they mix their own...others (like me) buy only commerical products.

Some don't use products with mineral oil, petroleum or parabens...some do.

Some people don't comb or brush, others do.

Some people don't use heat, others do...(the list goes on, and on, and on...)

Bottomline is this...for every thing that someone hates, there is someone who LOVES it. We all happily coexist. Loosen up and continue to do what works for you. Also, experiment. Don't be afraid to try new things. Chances are what you once considered the "end all, be all" for you won't be in a few months. You've only been here a month. Just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. Yor're going to look back on these posts and laugh a year from now.

Well sweetie, I HONESTLY think you should try out some quality products. Maybe some salon products or some products from Sally. When I was a newbie, you couldn't tell me Pantene Pro V relaxed and natural line was not the ish lol But once I tried products of better quality, Pantene was in the trash. Of course, this is not a one sized fits all situation. Some people's hair really thrives off of products like Pink, but you never know until you try other things. Right now I pretty much exclusively use Paul Mitchell and my hair holds moisture soooo much better than it did when I first joined. Id say, try a couple new products for a week or 2, and see how your hair responds to them. f your hair only wants Pink, give it Pink lol

Your regimen is missing a true moisturizer & nourishing oils (Im not familiar with the ingredients in hot 6 oils)....I like Jane carter's line of moisturizers (mostly all natural) and I like castor oil. Since you're relaxed it does not appear that you have enough protein in your regimen. I like nexxus emergencee.

however if your hair is loving what youre doing, then keep doing what youre doing!! If you start to notice your hair is becoming hard and greasy, ditch the pink stuff for a real moisturizer. If that does not help, ditch the shampoo for one with more moisturizing ingredients or even try washing with conditioner.

My suggestions:

1. drop the Pink Oil
2. Stop oiling or greasing your scalp completely
3. Not sure about Pink shampoo
4. Not sure about the DC.
5. Aphogee green tea is EXCELLENT after DCing

Can you post pics of your hair? It's hard to make suggestions without seeing the condition that your hair is in.

Welcome to the board!

How long have you used your current regimen? Have you grown and retained length since you started using these products? I ask because if you have always been SL then there's room for improvement but if you have gone from chin length or neck length hair to shoulder length then you are well on your way to longer lengths and you should just stick with and remain consistent with your current regimen.

I think maybe instead of the pink oil, you could try elasta qp mango butter or sheaorganics olive oil moisturizer for kids (comes in a light green bottle and has two cute lil black girls on the front). Both products have decent ingredients and as still affordable(IMO). For a DC you could use Elasta qp dpr-11 (it makes my hair feel like butter).
To better assist you, I have a list of questions about your reggie lol :

1. What condition is your hair in?
2. Did your regimen help you get to shoulder length?
3. What's your styling techniques like? Do you use heat often? Are you a rollerset type of girl?
4. How often do you do your current regimen?

I'm wondering why you oil/grease your scalp? Also, you state you have not seen bad results...but have you seen great or even good results? You stated the length but not the condition, that would help.

Just wondering...especially since you posted the question. Leads me to believe you are trying to improve something. Thanks

This is what I don't get. There have been so many people telling you that it's not OUR moisturizer of choice, but STICK WITH IT if it's been working for you, and it sounds like it's working. If you really are looking for a different moisturizer, stop saying "well I'm using it....and IIIIII think it works, buuuuuuut..." 'cause it's contradictory.

But to answer your question, yes you can mix the hot six oil in with your DC and I don't see the point of the grease.

ok sorry i shoul be havin pics soon and thanks and i gotcha no grease at all grease is bad

I don't think anyone said "grease" in itself is bad. It's specific ingredients in the grease that can cause issues for some people. Some "greasy" products that are made of all natural ingredients are fine, but why do you need this in your regimen? What is it doing for your hair? The problem is that most greases marketed for ethnic hair has petroleum, mineral oil, etc...

I was wondering, too. OP, IMO you should have a specific purpose for each step and only do that step if you need it. Some people only have 2 step regimens, some people have 6 steps. It depends on what you need for your hair. And again, it's still your hair so it's really up to you.

But, people did suggest moisturizers in the other thread. Jane Carter Nourish, ORS Olive Oil, Elasta QP Mango Butter, etc....
