for me it was neck-length. i freaked out cause that's when i realized that my regimen really was working. i walked around all day with a big silly grin on my face. hey i started when my hair was ear-length. anyway, what length gave you a similar reaction?
 
Well I can't answer this now since I am 13 weeks post and won't be getting my next touchup for about 2 and 1/2 more weeks. However, I'm sure that once I get this touchup I will be amazed at the length. I know that this will be the longest my hair has ever been!
 
I can relate...I started out at chin length and most of my life I have had 4-6 inches of hair. I went from Chin to Neck and now my hair is brushing my shoulders...I am soo excited...I think I always believed that my hair couldn't grow. I hardly ever herad anything positive from anyone about my hair so I didn't think that I could do it. My hair is about 10-11 inches long right now...the longest it has ever been. I know I will reach Bra-strap when I do I am going to throw a Par-Tay
 
Healthy shoulder length! I cried and everything!! My hair has TRULY come a long way. I'm going to update my album in September for PROOF. Its about 2 inches past my shoulder now and I LOVE IT!!!
 
Right now it is collar bone length. I can't believe my hair can get that long! I am hoping for underarm length hair. That would put me on my knees (saying thank you!)

My hair is hidden right now, but my bf pulled a piece taut (I'm a 4a natural) and he said "wow your hair really is growing" it reached below my colar in the back (past shoulders!).

My hair is about 7 inches long in back. That's currently where all my length is at.
 
I'm about 1.5 inches from APL. I'm so excited. It's been 5 years since my hair was this long. Dang blastit Texas hard water... :wallbash:
 
For me it was Brastrap. I was in awe that simple things like conditioner only washes, protective styles and wrapping your hair up at night consistently really did work. Now if I can juuuuust get to the bottom of my waist.... :grin:
 
For me it was yesterday when I realized I was at shoulder length. For me its a big suprise and a blessing because I've never ever been at shoulder length before.

I wanted to :cry: as I was reading all your answers. Every time I think of all the times I was disappointed with my hair. All the times I suffered abuse from “ hands ignorant stylist:ohwell:always over processing my hair " to the point of baldness:eek: . I praise God for this site, you ladies and His wisdom to care for my hair & my daughters. I have never had this amount of compliments and questions about my hair . Almost all positive (only 1 negative vibe) I now love my hair. I remember a male childhood friend, a few years back saying “ Oh I remember you always had problems with your hair " that really hurt:( at the time. Well all I know is, if I can see such awesome change in the past 3 months ......just watch me now;)

Mine was my hair in in May. (In my fokti) My hair was about 4 inches above my bra strap. It was really nice and pretty but I was fooled into thinking I need it cut. So I am growing again. Once I reach bra strap, I will be happy with that length. Now, I know when I hit brastrap I will want to keep going. lol
 
When I first joined the forum, I had about chin-length hair. It didn't make it to the the base of my neck and there were a lot of layers in it so some of it was pretty short. About 4 months after joining, I had joined the military and was off to BCT. I started off with braids but they were too thick and made my head to big for my kevlar so I took them out and kept my hair bunned up. My hair was bunned up for almost 6 months while I was going through training.

When I got home, I relaxed my hair and lo-and-behold, my hair was full-on shoulder length.:grin: :grin: and approaching APL...It may not look like much to anyone else but it was the first sign to me that my hair could grow and that protective styles and/or bunning could help. There's only about 8 months between the two pics.

I usually wear my hair roller set and pretty curly, but i had it almost bone straight the other day and realized that my neck is pretty much all the way covered up (which was my goal for the summer- reached early:) ) and some of the layers in the very back are brushing every so slightly at my shoulder!!!

Now, if i can just get those jacked up layers in the middle and the sides to catch up, it's gonna be on and popping!:D

A stylist told me that my hair was unhealthy and i needed a cut because i had post partum shedding. check my fotki the first album, you'll c, tell me if that's unhealthy. btw how do i do an attachment?

I don't know why you believed her...your hair looked long and healthy to me!!! As far as the attatchment goes...when you post click on the paperclip sign and go from there. It's not hard;)
 
Growing up, my hair was 3/4-way down my back so i'll be excited when i reach half way there...

:eek: Okay, I'm going to need the name and number for this stylist so I can tell her a thing or two...:mad:
 
for me it was neck length. even though neck length is short, before then my hair was around ear length. i couldn't wear a ponytail. the only thing i could do was wear it down. now im aiming for shoulder length. then armpit.

Aww...congrats!! :D

For me it was BSL. After finding the board and actually making BSL I was SO happy!!
Next will be WL. I will be acting a fool once I make WL :lol:

reaching shoulder length for me was soo exciting. After having cut all my hair off because it broke off, then trying to grow it out was a nightmare. It took so long but I finally reached SL and was jumping for joy, I was so happy I didn't mind if I stayed at SL forever..lol.

My most exciting length was shoulder length...i was in shock. For years and years my hair stayed firmly at chin/neck length, even when i joined up here i didnt really believe that my hair could ever be as long as full shoulder length.
Since then i have been seeing a difference in my hair length after every touch up...something that i still find exciting.:):p
 
I'd have to say that when my hair got longer than BSL, that was pretty exciting because it was getting longer than I ever remembered it being. I thought for so many years that BSL was it for me, so it's wonderful to see my hair getting longer than that and to see the proof of what gentle hair care can do.

Love your hair, I wish I could be saying that soon lol,

But for me it was a few months ago when I flatiron a piece and realize I was arm pit length stretched that's super crazy to me I've never past shoulder length I was happy, and now months later I did the same thing and I'm brastrap stretched wow! I love this board
 
I just had a "ah ha" moment yesterday when I was washing my hair. I felt more hair down my back so I ran out of the shower to get my camera to take a picture and my hair is creepin more and more down my back. I think I am APL in the back but my sides are still about 2inchs from. I have 5mos of NG so I havent been able to see how long my hair really is. I cant wait for Aug 1 to get the shock of my life:bouncegre:bouncegre:bouncegre:bouncegre
