what's the difference between a rinse, a conditioner and a leave-in?

sorry if it obvious to everyone else, but I do not know what a rinse is.When I visit hair care websites they have a separate category,even in the sites in Spanish call it rinse, and in Cuba my native country I remember my stepfather travelling to nicaragua and buying some rinse for my mother,she used it as a conditioner. does anyone know?thanks

Well in general a rinse is a light conditioner that helps detangle and lightly condition the hair. Some people here use them after they deep condition just to increase managability. With most rinses you just massage through and then rinse. If you let it sit longer or apply heat, it does have more conditioning properties.
