What's So Special About Coconut Oil?

OK, maybe that's where I'm messing up. I don't moisturize first whenever I try it on my hair. I'll give that a try. Otherwise, it sucks on my hair!

However:

If I have a bump on my face, I'll dab a little on there before bed and the bump is gone in the morning.

If I'm feeling cold symptoms coming, I put 1.5 tsp in my tea and it helps to prevent me from getting the cold. (I've been a tea drinker for years, same recipe, so it's not the tea)

I used to take a hefty tsp internally before bed at night or in my morning tea and my skin and hair glowed.

For a long time I couldn't take the smell, so I originally bought REFINED EVCO and I use it as my lotion in the winter.

I rub on a little unrefined to help repel mosquitos in the summer.

Hubby and I originally bought it because we'd learned that it was good for... coloring. *blush*

QueenAmaka how did you use the CO? What effect did it have on your new growth?

Raspberry It made my new growth really soft. I used it on dry hair. I had worn my hair in a braidout today and usually it is tangle city when it is time to wash. I allowed the coconut oil to stay on my hair for about an hour - i was a little heavy handed but my hair seemed to soak up the oil. After an hour I rinsed it off and my hair is still super soft and detangling was a breeze. I am now drying my hair using the scarf method and will wear a bun tomorrow.
