Re: What would your regime be w/o this board\'s info?
I got on a good stretch my senior year of college where once a week, I would use VO5, shampoo (with whatever. sometimes Creme of Nature sometimes a VO5), condition with Cholesterol under the bonnet dryer, spray in Pantene leave in and braid up my hair. I got alot of growth that way, come to think of it. I also used satin caps, and kept my hair natural.
In the interim of have gotten texturizers 2-3 times a year, stopped the hot oil treatments and deep conditioning treatments (just used suave coconut shampoo and conditioner) and got very sometimey on my satin caps. Got alot of breakage.
Recently I started actively thinking about growing my hair long (instead of just once in awhile wishing it was long) So I got back to satin caps, and back to VO5, and was thinking about getting a bonnet dryer so I could deep condition again (in college I used my roomate's dryer) I decided to go online and see what other tips I could pick up, and voila! A whole new world opened up! Seamless combs! Reconstructors! Protein vs. moisturizing conditioners! Conditioner washes! Natural hot oils! Hair vitamins! Hennalucent!
Oh, so long story short without the board it would be VO5, any old shampoo (for dry or damaged hair, even if it contained Ammonium Sulfates since I knew nothing about sulfates), Cholesterol under a dryer, wash once a week and use a satin bonnet. I'd still get growth with this but not as much as I'm getting now.
