My Regime Sketch (for my natural hair)

1. DC with heat on dry hair (I consider this as my prepoo)

2. Oil Rinse

3. Clarify (ACV or clarifying shampoo)

4. Airdry in twists (up to 85%)

5. Blowdry hair ( w/ comb attachment and heat protectant)

6. Either Flat Iron or Saran Wrap

What do you ladies think about this? Will I be using too much heat? Any critiques and suggestions would be gladly appreciated. :yep:

Sounds fair; personally I don't blowdry and flat iron because for my 4a/b hair that is TOO much heat on a weekly and I am a devout rollersetter but this is what works well for me. I don't know your hair condition or texture, but I usually airdry and flat iron OR rollerset then flatiron OR just rollerset. I blowdry twice a year(with Dominicans). If you hair can take it though, the regime looks OK. Do you take any vitamins and what kind of protectant will you use when you flat iron/blow dry?

Now I am a natural, so parts are good and others I could leave.

Okay, for me that's too many things at once. I dc then conditioner wash, airdry upto 85% in twists, and twist it up. That's the first part of the month. Then I conditioner wash ever week while twists are in. At the months end, I first clarify then condition. the next day I will dc with or without the heating cap and oil rinse then airdry in twists to stretch and twist up. Now the steps change every other month, to allow for henna, amla alternating with aphogee and both always followed up with dc. I am sure that for someoen with a perm your routine might be perfect

I wouldn't use so much heat. Now that it's wintertime, I'd rather you wash your hair at night and just air dry completely. If you have fine hair, your deep conditioning first before shampooing is an awesome idea, but if you have thick, coarse hair, I'd do the opposite.

I haven't mastered rollerset yet. My hair seems to shrink so much that it refuses to be rolled around the magnetic roller. As for vitamins I use flaxseed oil, msm. and biotin and for my heat protectant, I use Aveda Brilliant heat protectant serum. My hair is pretty thick but I don't want it to thin out due to too much heat. But at the same time I really want to protect my ends which seem to dry and try to knot up.

I forgot to put as the ACV I would only do that once every two weeks. But around that I will just be dc'ng and oil rinsing. Do you think I should switch my routine around every so often?

I have thick course hair and it's a pain to manage even though I grateful for the fullness. So instead of DCing before hand, do it after the oil rinse etc. I will try that out.

How does saran wrapping you hair help?

You wrap your hair as you would usually do before going to bed, then you place saran wrap over it and sit under a dryer. The results are usually much better than a flat iron and the fact that you're not using direct heat on your hair. Do a search on saran wrap, there's alot of info on it here in LHCF.

This will be my first time trying it out, but I'm not sure how well it will work since my hair is natural...
