Hello, I am relatively new to this forum, but have already learned so much! About a year and a half ago, my already fine, 4a/4b hair fell out in patches due to stress, not taking vitamins, overrelaxing, etc. I am now putting it in micros, and I take SOOO many vitamins, but was wondering which ones were good for THICKNESS?? I heard horsetail is good, but am not sure. My hair has grown but is still thin and patchy. I use Biotin shampoo and GDP conditioner, and ORS deep replenishing conditioner, as well as Tea Tree Neutralizing shampoo and cond once a month. I am also using ORS fertilizing serum to help my edges thicken. Someone reccommended to me to use sage tea and apple cider vinegar as a hair rinse. Can I use this with micros though? Please help!

Vitamin B5 thickens hair. It's also called Pantothenic Acid.

Drinking 100% carrot juice will thicken hair. It contains B5 and a long list of vitamins and minerals.

I've heard about Biotin, but now about B5 thickening hair....what about niacin? should I take extra amounts of that? Also, any opinion about horsetail??
Thanks ladies!

Your best bet is to take a complete B complex. B5 is known to help with thickness, but it is also the case that the B vitamins work best together. B complexes come in different amounts such as 25, 50, 100, and 125. If you're shopping for a B complex, check the amount of biotin first, as this is where they tend to skimp (biotin is fairly expensive compared to other B vitamins so they'll put lots of the others and only a little biotin). Make sure there is at least 100% of the RDA (300mcg), preferably more.

BioSil is supposed to help hair grow thicker and stronger. According to the box, BioSil contains a bioavailable form of silicon which is 20,000 times more soluble than the silica found in food, horsetail plant & colloidal gels.

Castor oil- used as a pre-poo has definitely thickened up my hair. I do it overnite with a thin plastic cap or 15-20 mins prior to shampooing w/ thin plastic cap under a hooded dryer.

you reached waaaaaaay back, but the advice is every thing I would have said plus

Rinse with Rooibos tea
use aloe vera gel on the scalp every now and then.

B5 is excellent.
