Yes, except not only does it remove chemical and chlorine green buildup from the outside of the strands but the inside also. I love the Nexxus Aloe rid clarifying poo and Treatment (the Treatment actually does all the chelating). HTH's

How do you follow up this type of treatment? I've used the shampoo, and it is not drying at all. Is the chelating treatment drying? I think I may need to start using something like this because I plan on sticking with no-lye relaxers.

You just apply it after the poo and leave it on for 3min. then rinse. I don't think it drying, it feels extra clean but not stipped at all.

I MUST use a chelating shampoo because of my water quality. I don't live in a hard water area, but I think my pipe are causing my water to have mineral deposits that have done a number on my skin and hair. I try to use products that have EDTA in them. It is a chelating agent. Even my facial cleanser has it (dermalogica ultracalming cleanser).

But, my Kenra Chelating Clarifying shampoo or my new friend the Redken Cleansing cream don't give me slip. After using one of them, I follow it with a moisturing poo, and I try to still use only those with EDTA in them. I LOVE Porosity Control shampoo for this.

If I skip my chelating shampoo 2 or 3 times, my hair is dull, dry, breaking and brassy looking. :look: :perplexed :ohwell: It started after I moved into my house. My skin was bad yall. It has been good since I started using the Dermalogica.

I don't leave mine on for 3 min. I just shampoo and rinse. But, I do use it with every cleanse.
