What really got you growing???

I'm asking because, I'm trying to find the right vitamins to take. I tried the GNC Hair, Skin and Nail vitamins but, those had my skin breaking out. I'd like to know what brand did you try and how were your results.

I want my hair to grow and my nails to continue to get longer so if anyone has some suggestions just drop a line and let me know, thanks!

I was tired on relying on a weave for length. Weaves are just temporary fixes. I wanted length that was all mine. I've always thought that my hair wouldn't grow. I even kept it cut short for about 9 years:eek:. After my last haircut in May 2005, I started looking into ways to achieve healthy hair and get the length i want. I found LHCF in 2006 and have been going strong since

My suggestions for you would be to deep con. atleast 1x weekly, comb less, protect your ends(baggy method is good) and if you dont' have enough protein in you diet increase your protein intake. Stay consistent in all things good that you do to/for your hair and you will definitely see results

I totally agree with this. Also, what really got my hair growing is just leaving it alone and keeping it in protective styles.

OT, but Whoa! Look at your length progress in a month's time! My hair would NEVER grow that much on its on. Good job!

I have been using the GNC HSN vitamins for over 2 years and they work reall well. When I first started taking them, I had a major facial breakout, but it cleared up nicely and I have no problems with them.

Also, no heat and deep conditioning has been good for me. I have been doing the MTG for about 2 months now, and I think that is working out pretty nicely too.

I'm still trying to find out.... but wutever you are doing seems to be working.

I take the same GNC vitamins (to make my long hair and nails stronger & even longer) along with Women's One-a-day MULTI, flaxseed oil and 5000mcg of Super Biotin... Its been 8 days and I haven't broken out and I dont want to.. do you break out during the initial phase or a little while after taking them?

I broke out a lil while after taking them.

What Got my Twa growing is just not worrying about it all the time and stick to a regime that fits me and my hair which is CW every other day and let the wind do it's thing,I also TRY to exercise for 30min. to get the blood flowing Plus I have been hanging my head off the bed for 15min. to let the blood flow. and good nourishment.

Well my hair's always grown, it was just retention that was the problem. :ohwell:

I'm getting a boost from BT and GNC's hair, skin, and nails. I initially broke out (just a few bumps here and there) after starting the vitamins but I believe it's just the initial detox phase. I steamed my skin and it calmed down.

BRAIDS because of no/low manipulation and rinsing in the shower everyday. MSM made my new growth manageable enough for me to stretch 6 months at a time. Trimming ends as needed

To be honest... cutting off the relaxed ends. For some reason my growth sky rocketed after that. I wasn't dong anything else different as far as my regimen goes.

I really saw my growth take off earlier this year after taking biotin 5 mg for about a month or so, hair and nails. BT increased my hair growth even more. Although, looking back at my pix, I did have fairly good growth during my first year without taking or using anything that's really supposed to increase growth. I just think that's because my hair was starved for attention.;)

Yeah I'm tryin to be on your regimen as well . What brand of Biotin do you take? I'm thinking of trying a new brand, been using Nature's Bounty since the start f 2007.

For real! That is excellent progress; whatever you are doing is truly working! Your hair looks great, and you have retained some major length in a month's time!

To answer your question, I would say pre-poo, DCing, Henna, nightly moisturizing and sealing ends, and my rigorous vit schedule have helped tremedously.

HTH!

For me, using no heat, keeping my ends moisturized to retain length, a good, healthy diet and daily exercise for at least 30 minutes.:)

**Braids and Amla Oil.
But i want to find ways to grow w/o braids.
I want to be able to wear my own hair for a change.
***Also, keeping away from the scissor.. not every trendy style i see in the books i must get.

Thanks so much for all of your help. I'm going to try washing my hair and rollersetting twice a week. I'm going to do this for three months and see what a difference it makes with my hair. I will do my hair on Sunday and Wednesday nights. This will be more like a no heat challenge with lots of moisture. I'm hoping that I will notice lots of growth as I'm also using the BT as well.

All of you gave some wonderful tips and I will definitely put them to use.

Thanks Again!

Eating Various types of foods help my hair grow as well as drinking plenty of water. I tried the vitamin technique and it didn't work for me.

Oh girl...I'm sorry I'm late! I take the vitamin shoppe brand and have done really well with that, but I have heard that switching brands is a good thing to do every so often. I think I will switch to a new brand when I'm finished with this bottle, but I need to research some companies first.;)

The funny thing is: My hair was always growing at a decent rate of 3/4" to 1" per month. I was just breaking it off at an even faster rate. When I finally learned how to daily moisturize my hair and protect it from my clothing (just to name a couple of things), I began to actually see the length.

Well what really got my hair growing was the MTG and the biotin. It also made it thicker. As for you breaking out from the vitamins you just have to get past the detoxing period which usually takes up to two weeks. After that your skin will look beautiful.:)

As for the GNC women's hair skin nails program, I started breaking out but two weeks later I was ok. I switched to Tone soap for my face too.

Weekly deep conditioning, BT, and eating healthier with vitamins is getting me decent growth. Baggying my ends help me to retain length.

No trims let me know what was really happening with my hair after every retouch. Before then my hair stayed the same almost forever !

I saw the length adding up! :yep:
