I wish I would have gotten my cosmetology license. I'm really interested in the science of all of this. Anyway, what makes the hair thick? Maybe if I wrap my mind around the logic of it, I can approach this in a totally new way.

There are many products and styling techniques that can give the temporary illusion of thicker hair: Henna, volumizers, thickener gel products, back-combing, blow-drying then flipping the straightened hair etc... But if you truly want thick hair strands then you have to be born with the thick hair DNA gene!

The only product that I have seen give much bigger hair to almost everyone who uses it is henna. The other stuff seems to be temporary or mor like a hit for some people and a miss for others. Check out curlynikki and her blog. She had great results using henna to get thicker hair.
