What is your purpose for growing long hair?

just every since i was little i wanted to know what it was like to have hair on your back!

I don't have a real reason. I was sitting eating some ice cream and after thinking I need to take a shower I though hey how about I grow my hair long so now its settled. I want to grow my hair long.

3. Really I was just sick of the sterotypes out their that we can grow our hair long.

Like most people on here I just want to see how long I can grow it and prove to others that black women can't grow long thick healthy hair. When I was really young I had long thick hair down to my back. I want to grow that hair back because I miss it. Plus my mom almost cried when I chopped my ponytail off and begged me to grow it back- so I'm partially doing this for her also.

Hey everyone

! My reason for wanting long hair is because I had long, thick hair when I was younger and I missed it! I had my hair braided every month since January 2004 and will be in braided styles until July 2005 (month b4 my wedding)...I want to see how long my hair will be by the time I walk down the aisle in the Bahamas

i've always admired long hair.. i guess it was a thing of wanting to be like my older sister.. When she was little she had long thick 4b hair.. Then she cut it.. and i always wanted her hair but by me cutting my hair myself.. i had to get a lot of it cut and my hair grew real slow as a child... sooooooi think that really got me.. i've always loved swinging my hair and stuff. I always tried to achieve long hair but it didn't .. now it's workin (someway some how) so i'm happy

TO see how far I can go. It's exciting to put hard work in to something and see results (kind of like excersising). Let's face it waist length hair would be out of this world! How many people can say they have waist length hair no matter what race...

I'll be honest (as always)...

I have a large head (literally). Longer hair looks better on me than a shorter 'do. I also have more styling options. Finally I think longer hair makes me look (and therefore feel) younger.

I've always been partial to short cuts because I'd didn't really know how to care for longer hair. Now that I'm learning how to have healthy hair, I want to see how long it'll grow.

I think that I'll look better with it long, since I have a long neck. Plus, I just love the way it looks on anyone. Long hair is the bomb! Although I have seen some sharp short cuts, they're not for me.
