My 2007 hair goal: (WILL KEEP IT SIMPLE)
-co-wash mon-sat (rub nexus leave in condition, s-curl and castor oil in then put on my phony pony).
-pre-poo overnight with cholesterol, shampoo and DC every Sunday then rollerset
-henna every 4th Sundays
-relax with phyto 1 every 4 month
-dust every relaxer
-heat with every fotki update (about 4X per month)
-when I am bored with co-washes, put in a weave for about 8 weeks max.
-will cut down on the vitamins and take only biotin, prenatal vitamins, flax and omega oils and my green vitamin drinks such as miracle green, etc.

-tie my hair up every night
-wash my hair once a week
-work out at least 4 times a week
-drink more water
-imma try and get my stylist to sewn in some weave on a regular

Two main things:
-Keep my hair in twists
-Avoid excessive manipulation

That's pretty much it... just leave my hair alone and keep it simple!

Daily CW/ rinsing
shampoo 2X a month
Light texlax with Phyto 1-2 Xs a year
grow out small ponytail
UPA clip??
protective styling- learning more, doing more
daily exercise
drink more water

Great thread!

-Stick with the same products
-Drink Ultra Hair Shake everyday
-Continue doing my version of the C&G method
-Pre-poo with Vatika Oil, Shea Butter, & AO Honeysuckle Rose conditioner at least 2 nights/week.
-Drink more water
-Journal and take pictures more

I have a new game plan:

I want to give henna/cassia and indigo a fair shot. Hopefully I get the conditioning results. I'll be wearing my hair up and airdrying from now on. I will only rollerset or wear a fall when I'm going out. I'm going to keep it really simple for the first quarter of 2007 and go from there. . .

Learn to relax my hair (and have my husband learn also)

Take spirulina consistenly

Bun consistently

Learn to Henna

Try and Texlax-maybe

Since I gave up heat on 4/19/2006, my regimen is:

Always pre -poo with something - Suave, amla oil
Weekly wash/deep con
Henna at least 2x monthly
Daily moisturizing and oiling
My multi, fish oil, and flaxseed oil will continue for health reasons
MSM for hair and joints
Adding 2 oz carrot juice.

That sounds postively heavenly! :yep:

I'm going to stick with what works for me:

-ALWAYS wash my hair in braids a la the Crown & Glory shampoo regimen
-deep condition with heat weekly
-consistently use my staple products
-henna 1x a month

I'm still developing a game plan for 2007, but my general strategies/goals include:
  • Know my hair and how to properly care for it.
  • No blow drying  Only air drying or roller sets.
  • Use a satin scarf nightly
  • Less manipulation (maybe wear a scarf whenever I'm in the house to discourage touching it)
  • Drink lots of water *reaching for some right now* :)
  • Continue healthy eating
  • Continue taking my whole food supplements (per doctor's direction)
  • Stretch my relaxers (I'm presently 6 months post-relaxer)
  • Healthy hair trumps longer hair (for now), so I'd like to have healthy ends, proper moisture balance, and thicker hair
I'm sure I'll modify/update this as I go.

I've been keeping it simple for a while now, and when I see the super long head of hair, I think dang, I need to step up my game!!! but I don't know... I basically just want to incorporate the GOOD things I used to do before the haircare thing, and the great things I learned now.

So basically: (regimen for the next 5 months (till May) )

-Wash weekly with Sunsilk Hydra TLC shampoo
-Deep condition either pre-poo with oil, or deep condition (haven't figured out what I will use yet)

*this might be hard for me, considering that my scalp itches like crazy, or my scalp starts to smell, or my hair starts tangling up... but maybe rollersetting will help... if I have to wash my hair more than once, i'll just airdry mid-week using natural oils

-Apply leave in (Garnier Fructis and a wee bit of Giovanni Direct)
-Detangle with wide-tooth comb
-Rollerset. For smooth hair (Rusk Smoother and CHI silk Infusion)
-Moisturize hair every night and rollerwrap (sunsilk Hydra TLC hair creme)
-Clarify every 2 weeks and do protein conditioner treatment (Suave Clarifying shampoo and Aubrey Organics GPB conditioner)
-Clip ends every 6 weeks (DUSTING)

-Relax every 10-12 weeks
-Hair tools: paddle brush, ultra-soft boar bristle brush, silk scarf, soft-bonnet hair dryer, rollers, hair towel, detangling comb, clips, shower cap.

I'm planning to keep it simple and moisturize some more. I gotta retail APL this year.

My hair is really thickening up now.

  • deep condition twice a week (dom products and ntm)
  • use a reconstructer weekly (keritin)
  • 'poo weekly (con/mane and tale)
  • co-wash once a week (whatever i have)
  • moisturizer twice a day (qp elasta mango butter) and evoo
  • baggy
  • relax 8-9 weeks
  • excercise
  • drinking lots of water
  • protein shakes daily
  • eating healthy foods and eliminating fast foods
  • vitamins

I just posted this in the APL in June thread. I think it's good to have a regular and 'lazy' schedule for when you're feeling burned out, sticking with basics.

~ Deep condition 2x weekly ( Need to get back on this...)
~ Moisturize 2x daily ( This too...)
~ Rotate protein and Lush Henna or Cassia treatments ( My hair seems to actually break/ shed less with this so far)
~ Try baggying at night! ( For moisture/ protection)
~ Take biotin ( To get growth/ thickness in gear)
~ No trims!!! Only dusting
~ Wear hair in tucked under ponytail ( To help retain length)
~ Braids or Dred extensions at least 4 months out of the year (not all at once of course!)
When in dreds:
~Surge w/ castor oil 2x daily ( This and MTG to stimulate growth)
~MTG 1-2 weekly (maybe after washing?)
~ Wash preferably 2x weekly ( To keep from smelling up my dreds too much and moisturize newgrowth)

Whew, hope I can stick with this!

My 2007 plan is to:
  1. Continue to prepoo with oils and cowash w/deep condition 2x per week (strong moisturizing program)
  2. Shampoo 2x a month
  3. Continue vit regimen
  4. Continue to stretch relaxers; increase a week each time
  5. Continue minimum heat/no heat (no curling/flat irons, blowdryers)
  6. Continue to moisturize and seal 2x per day
  7. Continue to manipulate less/treat hair gently
  8. Continue to use protective sets and styles
  9. Continue to cover hair nightly with satin scarves
  10. Increase water intake
  11. Re-start my daily exercise regimen

LHCF Boot camp and Head to Toe Challenge
Protective Styling by bunning and phoney ponies
Keeping ends moisturized
No trimming just dusting
Vitamins
MTG and MN

cowash w/deep condition 2x per week
Take vitamins daily
moisturize daily
manipulate less
bunning/bagging daily
cover hair nightly with satin scarves
Increase water intake
Start a exercise regimen 3x wk
Mtg 2x wk
Stick with same products
Henna 1x month

For 2007 I plan to:

*Drink more water
*Eat heathier foods
*Increase excercise
*Take my vitamins daily
*Pre-poo w/every wash
*Continue to wash & deep condition every 3 days
*Moisturize, Moisturize & Moisturize
*Keep my hair in protective styles
*Wear my scarf EVERYNIGHT to bed
*Stretch my relaxers
*Stop playing with my hair
*Limit heat usage to 4 times next year
*Learn how to rollerset
*Stop spending so much money on different hair products

Stretch relaxers
Wigs/buns as protective styles
Less manipulation
Take no pictures for at least 4-6 months
Take vits, excerise, diet
Limit products
Monthly Henna colour creme treatments

1) Drink > 64 oz. of H20 a day
2) Exercise consistently every week
3) Wash, condition and deep condition often
4) Only dusting twice a year
5) Leaving it alone. My hair likes that. ;)

for me 2007 is all about the SHINE

i plan to drink more water
take flaxseed oil everyday
maybe try a clear rinse or cassia
use coconut oil

all these things should help me with shine. i want my hair to grow but most importantly i want it to look healthy.

the water and the flaxseed oil should help with my dry hair. i also plan to:

moisturize everyday
stretch my relaxer to at least 10 weeks ( im going for 12 now)
and most importantly eat a healhtier diet
deep condition every week, i woudl like to do it twice per week but i dont think I would have the time.

My regimen will stay pretty much the same with some tweaks and variations here and there. My staples are the same although I have already added something new to my Nexxus staples, like the Nexxus Humectin Extreme Moisture Conditioner.

No heat
Relaxer stretching every 13 + weeks
Washing and deep conditioning 2 times each week
Airdrying in rollersets
Wearing my hair both in buns and updos (for style) as well as in braidouts and rollersets
Drinking my usual 1/2 my weight in ounces + of water every day.
Continuing to eat healthy meals and exercise at least 30 minutes each day.
Taking my vitamins daily
Loving and enjoying my hair every day. :)

To keep it as simple as possible.
Mainly braids and weaves
wash once a week/deep treat once a week/hardcore proteins only as needed
use heat accordingly
Moisturize 3-4 times a week or as needed
light dustings
Texlax 4 times only

*Protective styles (buns & french rolls)
*Baggy 4-5 times a week
*CO Wash 2-3 times a week
*No trims (only dusting)
*Exercise more often

My 2007 APL Length Strategy:

-Regular Henna Treatments
-Constant Protective Styling
-Frequent moisturizing/steam treatments
-NO Dry combing
-Minimal brushing
-Using natural products
-Reducing relaxer stretches from 16 weeks to 8-12 (didn't retain much lenth this year due to breakage from demarcation points  )

-Consistency in the above!!

Good question. Since I big chopped this year obliterating my 2006 hair length goals I plan to:

1. wrap up every night
2. stay natural
3. no coloring
4. mild trims every 6 months (my stylist says I do not need them any more frequently)
5. grow out my hair to 6 inches
6. keep it simple since my hair is short right now
7. start with deep conditioning to have healthier ends once my hair does grow out in length

That is it for now! Thanks for asking and making me think about it.
