2007 Fitness Bootcamp
LHCF Hair Bootcamp
Bunning
Moisture/Seal/Baggy
Staying true to staple products
Wash/Deep Condtion 2-3x per week
No combing (except wash days)
Vitamins and Carrot Juice (My hair is loving this)
Relaxers every 8-9 weeks
No TRIMS

My hair is healthy now so I am going to concentrate on gaining and retaining length but, also learning how to style my hair without damaging it. So that way even if my hair doesn't grow a lot longer I can still look and feel cute and confident.

I also (this is less hair oriented exactly) want to not be so shy about wearing my hair out. I'm proud of how far I've come in terms of learning how to care for it and it shows.

Damn I just want to feel pretty- whether or not I get full shoulder length by summer.

1) Wash and rollerset 1-2 times a week
2) Not trims, dusting only
3) Deep condition with every wash
4) Take all vitamins and such
5) LHCF Boothcamp and head-to-toe challenge
6) Do a better job at protecting my hair at night
7) Stay consistent with topical growth aids
8) Not obsess to much
9) More protective styling
10) Henna- I need to do this on a more consistent basis

I'm going to do pretty much the same thing:
Protective styling
Co washing
using the baggie method
Taking Vitamins
eating right
working out

My plan
Bunning/bagging
An occasional sew-in
MTG
Weekly washing with DC
Keep up with my vitamins
Healthy Diet
No trims only dusting
Strtetch at least 20 weeks
NO DIRECT HEAT

LHCF Hair Bootcamp (whole year)
Relaxers every 3 months (12 weeks)
Weaves as protective
Rollersets when my hair is out
I might try bunning a few times
Wash/Deep Condtion every week
Henna
No heat
Drinking a lot of water
Taking all my vitamins
Sticking to my staples (no more new products)
Trying to finish out the old

This is my plan so far and I hope I stick to it. I think the LHCF Bootcamp will really help me reach this goal.

I'm on the Sweet Success Challenge until April/May. My hair will be in cornrow braids until then. I will do the following:

- wash hair once a week
- use MTG twice a week
- every week final rinse with ACV/nettle
- spray braids with homemade moisturising spray & tie up w satin scarf
- keep up with supplements, and eating healthy
- exercise faithfully at least 4-5 times a week
- lay on slantboard for 20 minutes every night

After the challenge, I will continue to give my hair TLC as mentioned above. I need to find another protective style. I have been wearing a bun since March 06 and I'm getting tired of the bun. Also I want to stretch out my relaxer touchups which is why I'm getting braids.

What does a slate board do for your body?

I plan to:
  • Wear a weave (sew-in or instant) for the entire year
  • Use WGO/MTG every other day
  • Moisturize ends twice daily
  • Massage scalp for 5-10 minutes each night
  • Take my vitamins daily
  • Drink Protein Shake daily
  • Wash and deep condition twice weekly

Try Henna

Find a way to make my roots & edges 'lay down' while stretching..grrr
Drink more water
Try bunning (at least once)
Protect my hair better at night
Exercise, exercise, exercise

It's not a slate board, it is a slantboard. You lay on it with your feet higher than your head. It's purpose is for relaxation and circulation. It is similar to a headstand. I lay on slantboard to allow blood to circulate to my head.

Sticking to the bootcamp rules and regulations I've chose. I also will be bunning, french braiding, flattwisting more and only rollersetting or flexi-roding for a change.

My main thing is to just keep it simple. But, I have to up a few things an maintain consistency.

I plan to:

1) Wear a sew-in a majority of the year with exception to some special occasions (which really aren't many that I can foresee). My short-term goal is to wear my sew in up to May (graduation) and touch up my color then (I last colored in August). The sew-ins will also be helpful because my hair will be hidden a majority of the time; therefore, I should not need to get as many dustings or trims (retaining growth- which is my main objective this year) I did get growth this year but it should have been at least 2-3 inches longer by now. I am in a sew-in now so I should have made up for those inches by late February/early March with the incorporation of MTG (MTG affords me an inch a month).

2) Continue using my MTG consistently (If I I did this I would be much further than I am) Just laziness that's all  .

3) Continue taking my vitamins.

4) I think I am going to up my protein and exercise (I am considering a meal replacement plan that is high on protein and would be easy to incorporate since I will be doing my practicum this final semester and will often be pressed for time). I could actually usue the weight loss.

5) When and if I do where my own hair, I will keep the ends oiled )usually with Castor oil or EVOO and use my Caruso rollers or wrap. I will follow my usual routine.

That is it. Nothing extra. Nothing fancy. No new products. I really just don't want to mess with it this year. I am going on my 3rd year after 12/24).

I really favor the sew-in and I look forward to seeing what May will bring. That is when I anticipate wearing my hair out again. I will be getting the sew-in re done every 6-8 weeks. I used to do them myself but I have gotten rather spoiled letting a friend of mine do it for me. Again K.I.S.S. (Keeping it Seriously Simple).

1. Wash & rollerset weekly (same as this year)
2. Wear a bonnet when I sleep as well as have a satin pillowcase just in case (same as this year)
2. Start Henna treatments
3. Bunning
4. Stay with my hair care staples
5. Only flat iron for special occasions (same as this year)
6. Trim only when needed
7. Take my mult-vitamin (same as this year)
8. Continue my healthy diet of whole, unprocessed foods (same as this year)

Right now, I'm doing everything right but I'm currently cooking up some creative protective styles. I have a few that I already do but they need spicing up so I'm working on that.

I'll continue with my exercise, water intake, vitamins, scalp massages and generally taking good care of my hair.. that's what I do anyway so no changes there.

I'll probably go back to braids for the summer.

First of all: mastering the detangling technique. I'm also gonna try to protect my hair more against the weather (rain, cold, sun,...). I'm gonna do some braids for the winter too. Hair care: I'm doing a good job right now:D

For 2007
-wear hair bonnet every night
-coconut oil before washing
-wash & goes most days
-deep conditioning weekly
-protein treatments monthly
-regular trims (every 8-12 weeks)
-vitamins, water, exercise and protein shakes daily

I'm going to stick with my staples. I may even go so far as to literally put a label on all of my staple bottles that say "Staple -- Clarifying Poo" etc. to remind myself.

I am also going to start investing money in good hair appliances and tools, like a blow dryer, a flat iron, some high quality combs, some gentle brushes, etc. I should have extra money for that because my staple products are all pretty cheap:)

Continue with my daily vitamins
Wash/dc/style weekly (instead of daily)
Use less products...take the "less is more" approach
NO major trims...S&D only
Excersize 5 days a week (no less than 4 days per week)
Increase my water intake
Pray and BE PATIENT

1) Limit direct heat...was doing good for a while but I have been slipping the last couple of weeks
2) Continue to bun my hair up at night
3) Deep condition weekly
4) Drink more water
5) Stretch my relaxer to 12 weeks
6) No trimming until relaxer time

Good thread!

1-Continue to wear protective styles (wig, bun, etc) 90% of the time

2-Moisturize twice daily. Deep condition weekly

3-Use my 'growth' mix (MTG, Surge, and peppermint oil) every other day

4-and most important- be patient and consistent with my routine

My plan is to stick to the regimen I created and be consistent with it so I can see results. I want to try henna again and also be consistent with that so my hair will get stronger. I also plan to use up a lot of the products I have since I think I've found my staples in natural oils like castor oil, coconut oil, and olive oil.

  • drink more water
  • stay away from chemicals for 2007
  • regular trims
  • exercise
  • take regular vitamins
  • more fruits & veggies
  • night scalp massages
  • protective gentle styles
:)
