An inter--loc weave that is not sewn or glued to your hair or tracks can be used to grow your hair. It should be taken out every 2 weeks so that matting will not occur. Your hair should then be deep conditioned, strengthened, moisturized, as well as your scalp, then the Inter-loc weave can be re--applied. Medium sized cornrows or a bee hive roll of your own hair is appropriate for attaching interlocking. This is also appropriate if you have natural or relaxed hair. Permanent waves & Curls will not work with this method.
Product recommendation: Creme of Nature Detanging Shampoo, Le Kair Cholesterol PLus, Infusium 23 leave-in conditioner, my scalp oil, and any products you may need to the right of this page.
Start a healthy food diet including plenty of fruits, vegetables, proteins, and/or vitamins and minerals. See Foods
***If you have scalp problems such as dandruff or flaking scalp. look at the Hair Problems link. above.
Remove the alkaline base from the hair before applying if you have an allergic reaction to kanekalon or human hair.
Removing The Ala kline Base: In a sink full of warm or hot tap water, add 1 cup of white vinegar. Allow the hair to soak in this solution for 15 minutes. Rinse, dry, apply.

I found this on the Crown and Glory site. What is an interlocking weave? I thought it was basically cornrowing the hair and sewing the tracks to it....am I wrong?

There are actually 2 methods that are called interlocking.

The one she is referring to is when the hair is "fed" through the cornrows, not sewn on top of the cornrows. I could never understand how they hide it in the front unless some of your hair is left out.

The other one is not as protective because your hair is not corn-rowed. actually all of your hair is out. I've had this one and loved how natural it looked. It just isn't protective and cost a LOT OF $$$.

What do you mean "fed" through? Is this similar to tree braids?

Do they use loose/bulk hair for this or wefted hair?

TIA

They use bulk hair for the 1st, wefts for the 2nd one I mentioned.

I have never had the one that is mentioned on the C&G site, but my braider does this method and she says that some ladies swear by it. She says that she has one customer that flys in from out of town to get it done. :look: She says that she does it kind of like crocheting. I have never seen it demostrated, though.

Take a look in my album I have an interlock album in there.
You cornrow about 10-13 of them then using a hook you pull the hair through. It's easy to hide the front...and it lasts 6-12 weeks. Basically however long it takes for your cornrows to look messy.

My braider also does it with loose hair, not just with the the braided crochet braids. I am not sure how she does it though.

Well I got tree braids and I thought interlocking and tree braids were the same but when she did it she:

Parted my hair in four sections. She would take pieces of braid hair and cornrow them in totally hiding my hair and leaving out strands of the braid hair in the process. Like Beyonce's hair on the cover of DC's album with song Survivor on it. If you look closely you'll see where the cornrows start.

Actually a bee sidenote: I wanted to get my hair braided like Bee's so I went to her mom's salon and asked around. I got my hair braided there but it was not good. One of the other stylist there told me on the sly she went to a lady by the name of Swoi (sp) at Heidi and JoJo's to get her braids done at the time. And that's when I got my tree braids. They were really cute and would have been cuter if I had not gotten them in blond! LOL
