What IS hairexia???

When I hit a length it never looks that length to me. It always looks not long enough, not thick enough, or not fly enough. Is this hairexia? Ifso how do I seek help? lol Seriously though, I'm afraid that if I do hit WL in 2013 or close to it that it STILL will seem like I'm sl and I won't feel like it's long enough...

When you hit WL, it probably won't feel like anything special even though your hair is stupid. It will probably feel like BSL or MBL to you.

It wasn't until I hit HL (before I cut it back to MBL but now I am WL again), did it feel like I was actually doing something.

I have this hairnorexia, too! When will my hair be long enough?? I'm probably around BSL (I think).....and it doesn't seem long at all. Shrinkage is also fooling with my mind I think.

Shrinkage has my mama chasing me with a comb saying, "I knew that haircareforum site was making you <blank>." when my hair is longer(SL) and healthier than it has ever been.

That YT grandmama of mine's gene's didn't reach nowhere above the hairline. Well, except that patch of 3C in the front on the left.

I suffer from it. I think my hair is just ok, but folx drool over it whenever I wear it out or if I do a big bun.

i totally had it. i think i've been saying i was SL for 9mths now. but i've only really been SL for abour 3-4ths or so. and now i'm eager to be APL; practically breaking my arm and neck in the bathroom mirror trying to reach my hand up high enough to yank on a twist while leaning back and holding iphone w/ other hand to snap a pic. it's funny cuz it's true

i see other people say SL is the longest they've ever been and i'm all like erplexed SL ain't ****. i feel bald and slightly unworthy of being on a LONG HAIR forum w/out long hair yet wow... i didn't expect a testimony to come out but there it is! ha

Being natural contributes to Hairexia...because my shrinkage it makes my hair look NL...It drives me crazy...I really need for my hair to show some length naturally..I use to think, well when I am SL with shrinkage I will be happy..LIES LIES I TELL YOU..so maybe when its BSL with shrinkage then maybe just maybe will I feel like my hair is long...IDK..but I dont want to measure my hair straightened or pulled (even though I still will) because I dont feel like that is my real length..Length is what people see and when then see me..they see NL..I feel like shouting off the rooftop ..MY HAIR IS LONG DAMN IT..

3 years into my journey and I still feel like a bald eagle... even when I pull my hair down I still feel like its the same length...looking at progress pictures usually convince me for a while but it just doesn't "feel" long or as thick as it appears...

I feel the same way and it is really frustrating. I am just touching my bra strap and I feel as if my hair isn't growing or is growing soooo slow. Then I come on here and see all this long/thick hair and wanna scream.

Today I was actually leaning waaaaaaaaay back to imagine what my hair would be like at waist length lol

I understand just how you feel.

Especially since my hair is natural. B/c of shrinkage, in my mind, I think of myself as shoulder length. But even when I straighten my hair, the length doesn't really sink in I think.
