I frequently have to give myself reality checks as to what my hair can and cannot do right now.

I have come to grips w/ the fact that:

-I don't have wash-n-go hair. Period. If I wash my hair, I need to be prepared to rollerset it for an hour.

-My texturized hair does not withstand humidity. If I know that I'm going to a club where I might dance/sweat my hair out, I need to wear a phony-bun or take other precautions for neat hair.

-My hair grows 1/2 inch per month. Period. I just have to wait...damn.

/images/graemlins/laugh.gif you sound like me...

I have come to grips w/ the fact that:

1. my hair will not air dry straight...Period...I've tried it so many times, and it never works. I blow dry and flat iron every wash and my hair is healthy, so I figure if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

2. My hair grows 1/2 inch a month also. So I have to chill out and wait.

I've come to grips with the fact that my hair does not like constant heat. So I have to put up with it not looking perfect all the time so I can stretch my relaxer and keep it healthy.

My hair is dry so I have to moisturize it if I expect it not to break...my hair is not the type that does well with no product.

I've come to realize that:

My hair is not that thick.

Heat destroys my hair! My ends always look horrible after blowdrying or flat ironing.

Co-sign! I would almost be willing to trade some length for some more thickness.... /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif

And Wash and Go...my hair would be like Wash and Go where? Washed Hair to Mo: "You'd better sit your 5 dollar a** down with some magnetic rollers in your hair before I make change."

My hair is thin like paper...and it doesn't matter how well I take care of it...it will ALWAYS be thin!

My hair grows 1/4 inch of a month or less no matter how many vitamins I take, etc!

My hair will NEVER grow to the lengths I'm comfortable with-in my case only 3-5 inches past shoulders which according to most on this site isn't "long" anyway but I can't grow it...and since I'm going to be in braids soon it doesn't matter anyway.

I have to accept that my hair hates alot of silicones.

My hair also loves, loves, loves cream moisturizers. This means that light oils are NOT enough for my thirsty hair.

Like Falon my hair HATES too much heat so while I hate the bun challenge my hair is loving it.

Lastly, I cannot put any product or oils on my scalp. Everything must go directly on my hair. I accept all these things bcause that's what makes my hair mine.

My hair doesn't really care for water based moisturizers
My hair loves oil/grease
My hair hates co-washes, once a week washes (dries my already dry hair out even more)
I have to take my time and comb my hair properly /images/graemlins/look.gif
I cannot use an electric pressing comb. I must have the fire!!
I DO NOT have wash n' go hair
I DO NOT HAVE CURLS!!! NOT A ONE!!!
The front will grow faster than the rest of my hair, no matter how much I 'even it up'

GOOD TOPIC!! /images/graemlins/up.gif

I have come to grips w/ the fact that:

1) My hair is not long enough for a decent bun (without fillers)/images/graemlins/cry3.gif
2) I can no longer style dry hair (like I did with my relaxer)
3) I MUST moistuize everynight, otherwise, I'll have a hot mess in the morning

...I'll think of others later.

My hair isn't as thick as I would like it to be. No matter how much I cut it.

It grows uneven.

Basically in 05' I'm dusting. No more major trims.

My hair grows better with vitamins, without them, my hair is very fine and breaks very easily, it sort of dissolves.

My hair cannot take any form of chemical treatment, such as relaxing, texturising and perm. Colour treatment and highlights are fine.

My hair grows uneven.

My hair needs daily rinsing, without that it cannot retain length, even if I shampoo my hair every two weeks, daily rinses is a must.

Expensive shampoos are better for my hair, although it will not suffer with cheaper ones.

Surge 14, castor oil, aloe vera gel and juice, MSM, glycerine, rosewater, jojoba oils, wild growth, and making up essential oil sprays are ideal for my hair.

Sticking to protective styling is best for my hair.

1) My 2 distinct textures make twists & braids kind of messy because they get so fine & thin around the edges.
2)I no longer feel like blow-drying my hair straight to trim it (too much trouble). Must find an alternate method.
3)My hair is gonna frizz & swell like a sponge in humid enviroments.

My hair changes texture with pregancy.
My hair loves daily rinsing - I tried cutting back. Bad idea.
My hair likes being fed, oiled, moisturized, and put in a protective style (especially the ends).
Other than that, my hair likes to be left alone.

My hair loves daily rinses. My hair does not get heat damage, it actually likes it. My hair HATES chemicals of any sort, especially relaxers. My hair is thick and not thin.

My hair does not like to airdry everyday I have to blowdry occasionally.
Grows faster when braided and does not like to wrapped frequently.

1. My hair CANNOT stand flatirons, curling irons, hot combs and blow driers...basically extreme heat
2. My hair doesn't curl like other texturized heads...waves only

That I don't have wash and wear hair. The closest I can come is washing/conditioning at night and airdrying in rollers overnight.

*Shrinkage happens…no matter how much product I slather on my hair
*My hair will never get bone straight with just a flat iron
*4a and 4b are different textures with different needs…even if they are on the same head

My hair:
- is very dense on my head, and it takes forever to do.
- loves heavy moisturizers and heavy oils.
- only dries SEMI-straight when I slick it back wet and tie it up.
- will never get "silky" straight with relaxers. NEVER.

my hair does not like a lot of protein. If I'm getting breakage, then most likely it's because I used a product containing too much protein. It's taken me a year to figure that out. /images/graemlins/wallbash.gif

My hair and relaxers are not friends (thins my hair out). It has taken me years to come to grips with this? /images/graemlins/spinning.gif

No matter how many times I try to flatiron, or blow out my hair to bone straight, it will never look bone flat, my hair is too thick.

Vitamins boost up my hairgrowth to almost an inch in some places the average: 3/4 an inch. But since I do not want to take them anymore I must settle with 1/2 an inch.

It takes time to grow out hair. My hair didn't get to my current length overnight, and it's not going to get to near waist length overnight either.

I cannot color unless I want to cut off my hair due to color damage. The closest to color I can get is semi permanent.

Its going to take me 3 hours to do my hair everytime I wash if I plan to rollerset and blowout.

I can do a wash and go, but I have to be prepared for gentle combing because my hair will tangle terribly. That's why I don't do it. This was when I was both natural and now texturized.

My hair on the top of my head will never be curly at the roots. It must grow out 3-4 inches before it starts to do anything.

Now that I've cut my hair my sides are actually a little bit longer than the back. And I didn't cut my hair in the back as evenly as I thought. Now my left side of the back of my hair is longer than the right side. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

my hair will & does grow
my hair needs constant moisture
trimming isnt necessary every 6wks
while others get 6in of growth The last 2yrs i've only gotten 4in per year but I retained most of it
I dont like taking vitamins even if it might boost me to 6in per yr. (will get over this in the 05)

**my hair is supa thick
**will grow 3/4 of an inch a month if i would just leave it alone.
**i dont feel like waiting to see my loose natural hair reach 6 inches or longer because of the maintainence...
**my hair loves to LOVE each other..(constant dancing/twisting itself around another strand)
**decided to go ahead and loc since my hair has been wanting to do that for the longest.
