I used to follow Lewis on Twitter and youtube. Then little by little I realized he was a jerk...

I'd probably disappear for a while too if I had made such a big deal about it on youtube like she did. I didn't follow her channel but I remember someone posted her video on here a while ago where she was talking about how you don't have to put it on him for him to put a ring on it. I really didn't like her from that video as I thought she came across as really smug and arrogant. Plus from the things she mentioned in that vid I kind of suspected that things wouldn't work out in her current relationship so I'm not surprised to hear the marriage didn't go ahead. I feel really sad for her though and hope she finds the strength to pull through and move on.

Actually I don't think it was the message that was off putting. She's actually right in what she was saying. I think folks just got tired of all the bragging. I know it annoyed me at some points too.

Sad, and I know she is heartbroken. I really enjoyed her message about saving intimacy for marriage. It is true. One of the problems that can arise from that though is that two, healthy adults waiting for marriage, will likely want to get married sooner than later so that they can, um, indulge. Some of your objectivity can be compromised and you rush in too fast for the sake of getting to have sex. It's still the best idea to wait on it, but also to try and not rush in. I believe she said they had dated for 8 months. In most cases, that's really not enough time to get to know someone. I know she is probably seriously devastated, but she will probably realize later that this is all a blessing in disguise.

Aw man. I just watched her engagement video for the first time and now I'm sad for her because she was so happy. She wasn't bragging, she was happy. It seemed like bragging because she was talking so much about it, but she was encouraging other women. I hope her engagement didn't break up in a bad way--like, I hope it wasn't something jerkish. IDK. I hope she isn't ashamed and maybe she's just busy with something else because it isn't anything to be ashamed about (although I get it. I get why someone would be reluctant to post more)

On a personal note: She's talking about him like I talk about my SO and we're not even engaged and I always hope people don't think I'm bragging (I'm just happy ) in case we break up and people try to play me.

On a selfish note: I wanna get engaged now

ETA: Now I'm watching the "Worth the Wait" video and I can understand how some might take it as bragging. I wonder what happened? I'm about to get depressed Chile, I have totally made this all about me. I'm self-centered. lol

I think she was just very excited about it. I was on her Facebook page and honestly between the Facebook posts several times a day and the youtube videos I can definitely see how it came across as bragging. At one point I honestly got tired of hearing it. And I loved her channel but she just lost focus of what the channel was supposed to be about BEAUTY!!

Everybody didn't care to know about the engagement.

Truth be told Lewis had a point which was that you don't have to blow up your personal life to the world via youtube, twitter, Facebook and everywhere else on the net. Some stuff should be kept to secret.

I don't think all these other youtubers should be doing tags with their boyfriends and all that cause when you break up........ you end up looking and feeling foolish

I wasn't talking about her message about waiting for marriage. She was saying how this was the only relationship she ever had where she didn't have to check his phone or worry about him cheating or who he was with etc. And she felt this was all due to not having sex. If sex or lack thereof is the main thing in the relationship that allows you to establish trust and communicate properly then that's a recipe for disaster IMO.

That's the thing I don't remember her sharing a lot of personal info. She shared all the endangerment stuff because she wanted to use her channel as a testimony.
