I consider myself pretty versatile with my hair, and rarely do I admit defeat when trying to work with a style. However, since the start of my HHJ there are two things I've tried and tried and tried without success.
1) Bantu Knot outs: I love the look a good BKO gives! Every single time I saw a successful one, I would try again. Wet, damp, dry hair, big ones, small ones, tight ones, loose ones, rubber banded or bobby pinned....it never came out right! I've tried a bunch of different tricks and I think I've finally just accepted that BKO's are a style I won't be rocking.
2) Twist outs: At first I thought braidouts were for relaxed women, twist outs are for naturals....but I've seen plenty of relaxed women with beautiful twistouts! I'm not sure what exactly goes wrong but instead of looking like natural curls, it LOOKS like I twisted my hair and then untwisted it. It just looks like I didn't finish the style!
Any tips? What about you ladies...any styles you just CAN'T get?
