What hairstyles have you just NOT been able to master?

My twistouts were the best hairstyle I mastered....on my hair when it was shorter. Now that its a bit longer, I am struggling with it again.

Braids, cornrows, flat twists - all a bit out of my reach. I really need to work on the technique before I can work on a style.

Now, I got the technique down for rollersetting but need to work out styling. Will purchase mesh rollers in a few days. Hopefully that will help.

Hmm I can't do nothing! Even my buns & ponytails look bad. I am style challenged, but determined. I'm sticking to one style til I master it. Right now it's 2 twists - thats it 2 and I have a dang problem.
So Im not the only one!

@EbonyCPrincess I do agree I probably give up too quick but when I invest time into a hairstyle that just doesnt work I rarely want to try again. :ohwell: Pincurls may actually work! I cant do the halfwigs :nono: I sweat heavily in my head

If you braid your hair in cornrows and forgo a wig cap, halfwigs aren't usually that hot. The wig cap and full wigs make my head hot.

I know it isn't a "hairstyle" but I can't do a wrap to save my life!:nono: Evrytime I flatiron, my hair doesn't stay pin straight as long because I end up bunning at night.:ohwell:

Ok, as many have mentioned, it takes practice to get good. However, I still haven't mastered:
1) Flat twists: I have to do a couple then the rest start looking good. Then I have to redo the first couple
2) Rollersets: Ok, why can't I do this? I even have a DVD showing how to by Macherieamour of Healthytextures.com

For ladies who want video tutorials on bantu-knot outs, twist-outs, 2 strand twists, braids (with extensions) and cornrows, checkout my youtube channel: lolascrib. Link in my siggy too!

I was thinking of buying this for my mother and best friend. They can't get it from my description or youtube videos. Do you think this would help?

I have never been able to do a wrap, dry or wet hair, when I was relaxed. It was like rocket science to me. I stopped feeling bad when a stylist had trouble wrapping it one time. She put the top in rollers and still had to use a billion clips.

Recently. I have been having trouble with these twists I did. Its my first time doing them since forever like HS. I am puzzled as to how I used to do them on relaxed hair cause for the life of me I dont know what to do to keep them from coming undone!! I used eco-styler when I first twisted them but I dont want to apply gel to my ends every day......btw my crown is wavy yet my sides and back are curly yet at the end of my twist they dont curl even after setting them with rods!

i just want my hair long enough to do a southern tease bun. i think b/c of my shrinkage i'll have to be MBL because i don't want to blow out my hair just for a bun.

All of them
I cant do any hairstyles that require any kind of skill...and the sad part about it is, I have all this hair just dying to be curled, braided, twisted, etc...I want to learn! Someone, take me under your wing!:look:

mostly everything. i can only sucessfully do a WnGs or updos. when i do twistouts, its primarily to stretch my hair and then i pull it into a pony or updo. for the past few days my hair has been in small twists in a bun because i haven't had anything of importance to do. hopefully i get better at styling when my hair gets longer.

Im kinda terrible at hairstyles of any kind except curls & a nice blowdry, trim and flat iron lol....i love a pretty updo but i suck at them. I think braid/twistouts and bantu knot-outs will look much better as my hair gets longer.

rollersets, braids, twists (by extension twist outs), flat twists, french braids, cornrows, various updos, etc.

i have mastered putting my hair in pigtails. that's pretty much it :nono:

Cornrows and two strand flat twists are pretty challenging for me. I will master them some day!

When I was relaxed, I could never master wrapping my hair.

Any "outs" (twist outs, bantu knot outs, braid outs are a hit or miss). Two strand twists- they don't want to stay in my hair :(

I have tried the braid out so many times and EVERY time my hair comes out a HAM. I've tried wet/dry/damp hair. I've tried different leave ins. I tried trimming my hair for more uniformity. Nothing. I give up.

Roller sets are a close second.

for me its a bun, i can not get them to look as pretty as some of yours. even when i do a sock bun it still doesnt look right

I want to learn how to do a full head sew in for protective styles. I think I just need to work on my cornrowing skills. I want to learn to do them myself b/c I don't trust anyone to do it not too tight and to save money.

i wish i could do cornrows better and im a really ****ty rollesetter too, i cant get the rollers tight enough! Another thing i suck at is parting my hair , my parts are always slightly crooked, go figure?
