Purple what???? Lawdhavemercy! They get down like that huh?
No style which requires gel to hold it for month. This includes fingerwaves and pineapples. No weaves whatsoever. No asymmetric bobs or jerri curls. No hairstyles with crazy oranments in them.
no nasty greasssy Jherri curls, I hated them in 80s and I refused to get one then and I will never ever get one now! Also Ghetto fab hairdos like waterfalls, freeze waves, bright colors and inferior looking weaves!
I'm a Florida girl too and I see it ALL OF THE TIME. I live in Tallahassee where there's FAMU & FSU and there's always something going on in this time. The weaves here are ridiculous! Having school pride is one thing, but wearing orange & green weave in your have to show your school spirit is WAY WAY WAY off base!
With that said, no I would not wear weave in my hair of any type, the jehri, the "mushroom" mc lyte cut, mullet, mohawk, and the weave ponytails or french rolls with tons & tons of gel. So, just about anything that's not "simple."
What happened to those pushwaves that were done in the back and front and sides of the head, and pushed all the way to the top of the head like some mountain? I couldn't get away with that style though. My hair was too long and my face was too big. And humongous-headed people insisted on wearing this style.

are you talking about scrunchies?? lawd, if i remember correctly, my stylist used to take fingerwaves and then kind of comb them up, and you would get a curly wavey pump, lmao
OMG! I forgot about the mullet! I HATE that hairdo! no matter how stylized and sleek it is a mullet is a mullet is a mullet! UGH! There's even a website called mullets.com dedicated to people with awful mullets! On the site it's called child abuse to put your kid in a mullet and they didn't leave "US" out, black people's mullets are called "frolets", yes "frolets" and it has a picture of the most hideous frolet I've ever seen!
Never say never...BUT
I will probably never wear finger waves or ocean waves again. I will not wear the hard pressed crimps( think Salt N Pepa) or the gold or pearl beads set in place with hairpin like I did back in the late eighties.

Don't bother posting a pic. I had my hair done like this against my will one day. I asked for a "Candy Cane" and walked out with this monstrosity.
She even had the nerve to put some fake baby's breath in it. I was too shy to say anything. My boyfriend was
I will never wear any kind of straight hair style. They just seem "blah" to me.
I'd never wear locs. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that they aren't lovely. I just like to style my hair in different styles such as afro puffs, braids, and twist outs.
-any relaxed hair style...i know it's a popular trend but i did em for 2 decades and they're jus not for me
-locs... did em before and i prefer my hair "free"
-weave other than braids
