Natural hair has by far been the easiest for me. Nothing beats the ease and beauty of a WnG. My relaxed hair was very high maintenance. The relaxer made my hair much more fragile in general and weakened my ends in particular. I couldn't appreciate how true this was until I went natural and could retain more growth because my ends were so much stronger.

Short hair, whether relaxed or natural is really easy.
Medium-lengthed hair: relaxed easier than natural.
Long hair: Natural much easier than relaxed.

This is for me only.

I didn't vote because I am transitioning after being relaxed since I was 13. It's a whole new ballgame, so the jury's still out. Dealing with two textures is definitely different.

Both of these:

I did not vote.

Before I started my healthy hair journey....Being relaxed and natural was hard to manage.

Yeah I could run a comb through my hair when relaxed if that's what you consider "easier to manage" but a bunch of broke off hair fell out.

When natural it was soft, and nice to wash, and I didn't have the fuss of salon visits, but I had tangles and SSK's....

I think both are difficult to manage if its not healthy. JMHO.

I also knew some people with relaxers who felt they should have been able to:

1. have DOUBLE-processed (relaxed and colored) hair that they could
2. use heat daily
3. blow dry THEN hot curl weekly or daily
4. never balance proetin and moisture
5. grease scalp and never moisturize the hair with cream

I could go on and on....your hair SHOULD be brittle if you do that :(

Then many stop everything bad, blame the relaxer, and FINALLY care for their hair un-treated; I've always babied my hair :) Every time I go pass a salon frying and dying I cringe..many of those ladies will later blame "relaxers"

I've had unhealthy relaxed hair and healthy natural hair. I would say natural hair is easier but it's possible that if my relaxed hair was healthier, it would of also been easier. As of now, I'm not willing to risk damage to test the manageability of relaxed hair.

Relaxed hair was easier to manage but even using all the tips from the board I had a lot of breakage and didn't see any growth

Relaxed definitely. Could co-wash daily in 5 minutes. Could shampoo and detangle in 20 minutes. Finding products that kept my hair soft was much easier as well. Now, I don't co-wash at all, shampooing and detangling is an all day process and my hair is very picky when it comes to products. But I still LOVE my natural hair.

Relaxed hair is easier for me to manage, but I loved the fullness of natural hair. But lawwwd, it was work.

no option for locks?

I know this comment is old but I literally laughed out loud.:lol:

ultra short hair is easier natural
I think grow-out hair is hard at any stage...unless you have a wash n go natural or texlax style.

Long hair, I think relaxed or texlax will be easier for me.

Currently, relaxed has been easier. I'm in a grow-out stage.

To be honest, I don't even remember. I think about my hair way more now than I did when I was relaxed and I also wore my hair braided a lot, so...

it was EASIER for me to be bonelaxed.....because my results were predictable.

when i was natural my hair was always big and poofy and just too much for me to predict.

predictable is what i consider easy.....i think it really depends on what "easy" means to you.

HOWEVER, even though bonelax was easier, i prefer my curls now. i am transitioning back to natural because my hair is stronger and longer without the chemicals.

dealing with two textures is the WORST! i have 14 months of new growth and texlaxed ends and they fight constantly.:nono:

For me it was my locs. Talk about get up & go. If I wanted to curl them I could, or put them in a bun, braid outs, twist outs etc. now I have loose natural hair and I'm enjoying the process every day. I'm pretty low maintenance, I keep my hair in twists 99% of the time.
I came in here to say the same. Locs were the easiest, hands down. As they get longer you can retwist them less as well. At the 4 year mark I was just retwisting the first few rows every few weeks and pulling the rest apart to keep the roots seperated. That was it.

I love my relaxed hair aesthetically, though I do miss the strength of my natural hair. My relaxed hair takes time but it's not frustrating like my natural hair was, especially if I keep it regularly detangled during longer stretches. My natural hair was just so thick that I would start to feel hopeless and imprisoned halfway through detangling or styling. If I were to go natural again I would probably keep it stretched 90% of the time and wash in sections religiously. I'm not motivated enough for that yet, however; my relaxed hair is thriving and it's great to see the results of my LHCF-inspired labor.

I responded before based on the options, but yeah my locs were definitely the most low maintenance. I loved them, but they didn't look as good on me when they got past BSL.

relaxed was easier than my natural hair. I was also not as style challenged with relaxed vs natural. However, my relaxed hair was limp and it was more expensive in maintenance because I had to keep it from breaking ect.

Im dealing with 3 textures right now so I cant vote yet all I know is my ng is pissin me off, I like how my texlaxed hair is thicker but I dont have enough of it to say "its easier/harder than relaxed hair"

Natural most definitely. I was always under-processing my hair when it was relaxed which made it hard to deal with the different textures. Plus styling was hard since I have such fine hair- it was hard for it to not look limp and lame.
Natural I can wash and go and be guaranteed evenness of curls and I don't have to worry about touch ups.

All I really am prepared to do to my natural hair is co/wash it; moisturise; oil it and deep condition. That's all I have to do to get healthy hair. I'm a happy bunny :)

Relaxed hands down. I've been natural 4 yrs and i am sick of fighting these curls. I've been wearing my hair straight for 2 weeks with no plans to wear it curly anytime soon.
